Was it sold as a replica back then? I've never seen one...
Yep , I had one, here’s a very fetching photo of me in it at Butlins somewhere, mattbianco1 also ordered a couple of replicas a few years ago from America and I bought one and added a badge, still wear it 😉 full kit wanka-esque

Here's a few from 1965/68 (I think) showing the troubled Tinsley Viaduct under construction, and a link below for any engineers out there who like that kind of stuff.

I'll be honest, I much prefer the picture with the steelworks to the one with Meadowhall. I was a kid living in Shiregreen in the late 60's and 70's and could see the layout of it all from Concord Park. I know it's progress, and I romanticize the past, but Sheffield will always be steel and northern grit for me and I know that makes me a dinosaur but ey, it takes all sorts.

Where Meadowhall is, was Dunford Hadfield's East Hecla works, which had its own locomotives for moving steel around. I went there for a kid's Xmas party in the staff canteen, (note, not the works canteen, nor the director's).

Note the lack of vegetation in the older picture, possibly a sign of better management, but more likely the shit in the river from so many upstrream works, stopping anything growing.

It seems like another world.

Bert saw the full horrendous 90 minutes from the Directors Box, why he sat there his memory can't recall.

He's not going to watch it again.
we didnt was 0 -2 when we got in thanks to 1 extra pint and traffic going in to nottingham lol
