Look I believe them ….. and I am so pleased that so many of them have taken the time and trouble to register on this forum to express how much they really aren’t that bothered.

I mean their ownership is a lot better and stable than us. the finances are going to be healthy. I think the only advantage we have is that our academy is elite compared to them. I can only name 2 players who came out of Coventry in the past 15 years. Callum Wilson and James Maddison.

Wasn't that supposed to happen to Sunderland this season according to this forum it was . I expect that Coventry are and have followed the Sunderland model and will have been preparing two options over the last three months.

For most of their history, were they not one of only a handful of teams never to have been relegated.

They'll struggle to reestablish themselves in the premier thing, not because of 'natural level', but because it's a very difficult thing to do.

Clubs aren't loyal to players or managers if they don't hit expectations. Coventry would get compensated, just like the clubs of the successful players they'll be attempting to buy.

I don't think there's any real morality around football contracts, on any side.

Sadly, you're right. Were it me, I would want to see if I can defy the odds and keep the team I've just got promoted in the top flight.

I agree. But I get why you'd consider the very real chance of being sacked by November at Coventry, regardless what their owners may say

If I was him I would be eyeing up the Palace job whilst my stock is high. I think Kieran McKenna should have done similar when he got Ipswich to the PL without parachute payments. For any manager who aspires to the top levels of the game clubs like Coventry and Ipswich are stepping stones.

I don’t think it’s very likely so many established premier league clubs will decide to shit the bed in the same season. It’s incredibly fortunate for the likes of Sunderland and Brentford who could have easily had a wobble themselves if the likes of Forest, Spurs, Wolves & West Ham would have just had a ‘normal’ season.
