Maybe fuming , but his fumes have zero effect on Hamer - if CW had any pride , he'd sort Hamer out or move him out , but he doesn't , so the frustrations just roll along

I would say he’s carrying maybe a stone more than he should be, which slows him down

EPL lads are probably in single digits body fat

On his day he’s unplayable

But to be in the prem midfielders need more

I think he's a supremely gifted technical player. The bit I didn't get was you saying all Wolves players are not just fitter but also that they are better technically. If that's the case, his career heights are the top of the Championship and he's hit that.

Gary Neville - limited ability, not pacy - but wringed every ounce out to make a very successful career

Kinda can’t help but feel Gus could have been so much better than top end championship with a stronger application

It’s frustration for me as he does things no one else in this squad sees, let alone can pull off on his day

They may well have been, even though it would make no sense for Leeds, no idea if it would have made sense for PSV as my life is too short to pay attention to the Eredivisie, but if they were interested in paying a good fee, then given our track record of selling anyone with the slightest bit of talent for a mediocre fee, one can only assume they weren't that interested

When we first signed Hamer his disciplinary record was horrendous. He got 2 red cards in his first 7 games IIRC. We couldn't believe what kind of madman we had signed. But Robins and his coaching team shaped him into the player he became.

He has been wasted at your club for most of the time he has been with you. One of the most naturally gifted players I have ever seen play for my club. His position is CM and pulling the strings for everything that happens in front of him. Yet you put him on the left so he loses half of his game. I'm not surprised if he has an attitude problem again.

You don't need all 10 players back defending especially if you're looking to score goals. Leaving Hamer near the halfway line makes sure the other side leaves players back. Add to this a tricky player with pace....we used a player called O'Hare.....and you go from defending to in your opponents box within 5 seconds.

I know he isn't in the best of shape and isn't the player he was with us but I would welcome him back. If we go up this season I would be happy for a straight swap with Simms. He doesn't get enough playing time as Haji Wright fits better into the system we use but he scores goals. A 6'4" striker who is good with his head. Lampard would get a naturally gifted CM to work with, get him into shape and find his love for the game again. We won't have the funds to sign the players we need and know it will be difficult, so we will need to be clever in the transfer market. Instead of losing Hamer for nothing in another year or having to take a low fee where we would still get 10% of any fee you get for him you would get what you desperately need.

No reason why he wouldn't have been successful under Farke at Leeds. Every bit as good as the likes of Aaronson.

May well have been, just think they were well enough set where Hamer would play and as such any move would make little sense

Heckingbottom played him in the middle as did Wilder early doors but he picked him out as our most talented player and asked him where he wanted to play.

I can't agree that he has a bad attitude. He does get a few daft yellow cards, but I see that is more to do with frustration and to be fair he isn't the most gifted tackler or defensive player. That's not what he's in the team for though, he's there to make things happen and being as he's the leading the assists numbers backs that up.
What I will also say is that despite constant rumours that he's going here there and everywhere, I've not once seen anything from Hamer that he wants to leave or is even looking for a move and he appears to enjoy playing for the club and is clearly a popular member of the squad. Will he go in the summer, probably, however I think that will likely be more a club decision to cash in on a player with one year left on his contract, allied with Utd's seeming inability to offer players new contracts.
I'm not sure he's that unfit either. He's stocky like a lot of good players but he's not slow. Many a time he will chase down or break at speed. I think it's lazy to just say he's overweight and unfit and if he was, I don't think he'd be playing. He's also had spells out of the team this season and to my knowledge has not complained about it once.
Yesterday, a lot of what he tried did not come off but he wasn't the worst player on the pitch and still got an assist with a great ball into the box. He would have had another too if Sydie had scored with that header.
So I'm not sure what all the fuss is about.

You say we havent got the best out of him , he was voted the best player in the division last season. I love him,his carefree attitude, he is brilliant off the pitch as well as on it, attends everything with a smile on his face. Hes a bit daft on the pitch sometimes , but he is the most skillful player we have had since Ndiaye , has unreal vision and contributes to most goals.
His ball through for bamford against Boro, his goal against Brum, his free kick v Sisu ,very few players can do this,
Hes the type of player I go to football for.

Agreed he can make the magic happen on occasions and when it comes off, it looks terrific such as the pass to Ogbene, some of Hamers top draw goals too however he can’t defend or backtrack, he isn’t physically fit enough to be a link up player so you end up with Bamford dropping deeper for the ball for him to offload to Hamer. He isn’t the exact like for like but McCallum can play on the left if we reshaped the side when fit with O’hare behind Bamford or Canon/Campbell. If a cheeky bid came in for Hamer the sensible thing to do is accept it, we can offload some wages too and it might be an area we look to improve on

Don’t agree that they are all technically better than Gus at all.

He is extremely technically gifted and IMO the best player in the championship and he’s probably technically better than a lot of Prem players.

Unfortunately he’s not the most reliable, disciplined or hardest working. There are others in the champ who are much more effective to the team but not better footballers. (I suppose it depends on what your criteria is for better footballer I guess..)

I will be really sad when he goes because I love watching him play. He does things nobody else can do and makes it look easy when he does. He’s an entertainer but with that comes lack of consistency and no little stupidity.

Who put in the cross to present Peck with a sitter of a header that he missed?
Looking more broadly across the season, who has the highest number of assists in the Championship?
He has his faults, for sure, and is bloody frusrrating at times, but he also has qualities that nobody else can currently bring to the team.
