Said during pre-season this season he looked a cut above. Looked to have matured and developed over the close season, ripped teams apart (granted lower league teams) and scored some absolute peaches. If it were out of Osula or Cannon it's Osula everyday of the week including Sundays.
What about Monday night football ?

Osula is only trusted with 5 mins by Howe regardless of the situation
The goal was a freak, they are looking at offloading him and while this will boost his transfer fee hes not good enough for that level

What was the total cash received by United for the talent on that pitch? Ramsdale played a blinder too - When he's on form he's a very good keeper. Maguire... ?

I was at the game last night and the one agaist Everton last weekend. Ramsdale isn't the best technical goalkeeper but as a footballer in that position he makes the team so much better than Nick Pope.

Seeing 3 of our academy products perform well, you forget what a presence Magire has, made me proud of our club. Not grand, not special, just hardworking honest professionals in a tough business.

Two of them are likely to be taking on Barcelona next week.

Osula is at a precarious point in his career. I've seen it go both ways, either he fades into obscurity in league one or two like Jordan Slew, or had a breakout like DCL. Hopefully the latter.

Unfortunately as the parachutes disappear , we're gonna have to get accustomed to losing our bright sparks and replacing them with the Tom Cannons of this world.
Our best hope is to get one effective season from the brilliant youngsters of our academy before their upward trajectory takes them out of our grip.

But the thing is , our academy has produced a succession of stars , including international players like Jags , Maguire , Walker , DCL & Ndaiye.

Whenever I get chatting to random PL fans , they are amazed to discover that these guys started at little old Sheffield United.
Or developed with us like Brian Deane , Aaron Ramsdale , Dean Henderson.

Tell me who the pigs have produced over the same period 🤣

That isn't the case even with two new £50m strikers head of him. He was injured for a long spell this season and that set him back.

I'm sure he's not, and never will be, a starting Premier league striker but he will make a good living in a top continental league. Newcastle had a bid of £30m for him last summer. £40m will be good for us both.

Interesting that Howe preferred to throw the dice with him rather than Wissa on Wednesday

Osula is still a very young lad.
He's 22 years old, and has 5 League goals in 74 appearances.

I think he's at best an okay PL striker who would be good coming off the bench, or being the target man for a lower-half club. That's worth a fair chunk of money, and around what we sold him for.

Without parachute money the irony is we wouldn't have been able to afford to buy Cannon. Wilder pulled off a master stroke with Bamford and hopefully others are brought in on the cheap in the summer that can do a job too.

You can't judge Osula as an 18/19 year old playing up front on his own in our shocking 2023/24 team.

For Newcastle, he's scored 3 PL goals in 30 appearances. Lies, damned lies and statistics: he's only been on the pitch for 391 minutes so he's actually at 0.69 goals per 90 mins - or 26 goals over a full season.

Maybe Eddie Howe needs to believe in him more? Wissa was a poor signing for them, Woltemade is a #10.

A coach that trained the lad told me it was premature selling him and one day he’ll be worth a lot more. The same coach often points to David McGoldrick who he also coached and said that players can continually improve throughout their career and Osula was nothing more than a kid of 18 when he started coaching him.

That's potentially true but the reality is in the championship clubs can't afford to keep players worth as much as we got for him when they aren't ready. If the same bid bid came in for One he would have to go too

That can’t be right. There are people on here who say he’s shit. OK, they aren’t the sort of people who, based on their posting histories, you would trust to be able to find their own arse in the dark. But apparently experts nevertheless.
