With Phillips out.

Who do we think will be in the starting 11. Coventrys form has not been great away (although beat West Brom at the weekend). I watched the game against Middlesborough last Monday and they did look very good going forward and very structured at the back.
Think we should play the counterattack style as when the go forward, there full backs join the attack leaving them exposed behind.

Jaïro and Peck all day long, although I did like Soumare’s energy when he came on.

Would go with Soumare and pray it's one of his good days. Peckblaster just doesn't work as a two.

This. He looked very good in his cameo yesterday. Ideally Riedewald will have enough to come on on 60 for him, although I wouldn't want Peck to play b2b 90s (a double swap of Peckmare for Jairoblaster could work?)

Peck & Jairo in midfield & bring Arblaster on if/when needed.

I don't want to see Soumare at all. I'm not fooled by a few good minutes against the worst team in the league. He's a liability.

If so, may as well use the minutes in likely the game where we have the least to lose for the rest of the season

-------------------Cooper
Seriki-Tanganga-Bindon-Burrows
----------Peck--------Riedewald
Brooks----------O'Hare----------Hamer
--------------------Bamford

With Phillips and Rothwell suspended, hopefully Riedewald is fit for at least 60 mins, swap Peck and Riedewald for Soumare and Arblaster when necessary.

Hamer is usually good against these and O'Hare is due a goal against them.

It's certainly going to be an interesting midfield battle. As you pointed out all of our defenders join in with our attacks leaving us open at the back.

But the signing

But the signing of Onyeka has been a game changer. A class above everyone else in midfield. He reads the game so well he gets into position before the pass is played. He nullified the Middlesbrough midfield and that's their strongest point.

You have Hamer and he will be a danger. Can see there being plenty of goals. This is about our hardest remaining game as it isn't an easy place to go to. Wouldn't be upset with a point but we will be looking for 3 just like yourselves. Good to see your push for a playoff place is on after your disastrous start.

Can see there being a red card or 2. Any side of Wilder love to have a battle and most of our side relish a battle.

I see that Jack Rudoni has hugely underperformed this season in terms of goals and assists. After his recent little flurry are you expecting him to settle back into being inconsequential and flattering to deceive again, or do you think he might kick on?

When watched against Middlesborough, Onyeka reminded me of when Kante was at Leicester actually! From a neutrals point of view, he is the type of signing that will get you to the next step and get promoted. Have always rated Grimes and I wish we could have the luxury of a Grimes and Onyeka midfield (but with O'Hare playing in front of them)

If Jaro couldn’t make the bench on Sunday, there is fuck all chance he starts tomorrow.

It will probably be Peck and Soumare but could also be Blaster with a plan to drag at 60.

As influential as he has been, COH needs a wee rest and should be benched for Ty.

Rest picks itself atm.

You can't rest COH for our most important game of the season so far.

COH is first on the teamsheet- it's as simple as this he plays WE play better.

He's guaranteed to have the game of his life against his former team! Also, if he can press Grimes to stop him dictating the play, we will gain a huge advantage. Grimes sits between the 2 centre-halves meaning COH can push forward also be used if we play a counter attacking style.

Did you see his goal against WBA? Got the ball in his own half, ran with it until 25 yards out and hit an unstoppable shot into the top corner with the outside of his boot. Has struggled getting over an injury but lately has been improving.

Brooks looked to be limping at the post match celebrations, hardly surprising since he was kicked from pillar to post Hoever might start I reckon.

Exactly. Grimes and Onyeka have made the middle of the midfield solid and covering the defence when all of our defenders go on the attack. Our biggest problem has been giving away goals on the break in away games. This game will be a test for us as we might have won away last game without getting out of 2nd gear but it was only WBA.

Same starting line up as Sunday for me, bar obviously Riedewald( if fit) in for Phillips

It will certainly be interesting with both Grimes and Onyeka together. They both play the same role but Onyeka is on another level. Middlesbrough struggled the whole game in midfield but this will be a different kind of test.

If brook is injured I would bring soumare into the team as a central midfield player who has responsibility for winning the ball. And using the wing backs Seriki and Burrows to get forward.
Too many times do the three midfield players of the opposition over run our two

Our problem this season has been that we don’t play in the middle. All play comes down the wings as it’s where we’re the strongest.

Fans obsess over our midfield two because if teams decide to play through the middle we need our best two players there because they’re usually outnumbered.

Our plan for Grimes will be to press him and go around Onyeka rather than through him.

Can't see Reidewald being fit enough to start. Unless we think we can get 60 mins out of him?

I'd expect a combo of Peck and Arblaster. But it could be Soumare instead of Blaster.
If Soumare has a good day he's the better option to balance Peck.

Think the rest of the team picks itself. But I wouldn't be that surprised if Hoever started. He seemed to stop that left side for Wednesday on Sunday. And given Coventry's threats it could be that Wilder feels he is the better at stifling Coventry's left side?

Agree Soumare is a big risk….and I was concerned when he came on as sub as Wednesday but to be fair he played really well.

Soumare is such a weird player to assess.
He’s generally crap most matches…..to be fair think he’s struggling to adapt to the speed and physicality of English football.
When up against good/ physical midfields…..Soumare looks a bit out of his depth as the game often passes him by.

HOWEVER he DOES show odd moments of real quality and you feel there’s a player in there.
I remember he had a great 1st half in a home game recently when he did a good impression of Patrick Viera and looked the best player on the pitch.
However in that game during the 2nd half he did his usual disappearing act and hardly figured.
Makes me wonder whether it’s better to play him as sub later in the game so he’s fresh against a more tired midfield.

I also thought Seriki was struggling against that lot, having been kicked from pillar to post by them dirty fuckers. Wouldn’t surprise me if he didn’t start.
