No love lost between Sausage and Wilder, so he might not want to let him go to us. Looking at the Daily Record though it seems inevitable Rothwell will be shunted off somewhere this month. Straight swap for Bannan?

No way a player in his prime and of his quality would he be a make weight to a club on its needs and paying him £7,000 a week

Yeah that's the 'we're not in for him' bit. Not sure what he offers that we dont have apart from anotherr body ? Does he replace Jairo? Peck? Arblaster ? Soumare? m not bothered about him, let's get s box to box dynamic midfield player

Now Jairo’s injured and Soumare is out for 3 games we’re back to having Peck and Arblaster with Tom Davies as backup (until he gets injured for 3 months again). I know we can also play Hamer there but Wilder doesn’t like him central so can’t see that being a choice he takes.

I’d say now we’ve got the RB backup sorted we’ll look for a midfielder and possibly a CB, without Tanganga we’re reliant on a 36 year old or McGuinness.

Agreed CB and midfield is where we need to strengthen. However if we accept that our play off chances are over do we think the owners are going to want to spend a lot of money on players on loan for the rest of this season? If they do they need to be players we might want to keep for next season otherwise its just wasted money. I suspect any spending on players who might have been able to get us over the line like Rodwell will now be curtailed

20 games to go yet with 60 points available.

We are very inconsistent and unpredictable atm and some players have not played together that often in reality.

But a couple of quality loans CM / CB and we could go on a run.

I still believe that will happen.

Agreed, and there won’t be many players for the long term on the market. It’s not my money though so I’m happy for them to spend it so we win a few more this season
