I also wouldn't get hung up on keeping him around as if he's definitely going to break through and make the big impact at some point

Jebbison didn't, Osula didn't, Oné probably won't

If we can get serious money before we've used him much, just take it. But he'll need more exposure than what he's currently getting in order to get a top fee. Going to L1 and knocking in 8-10 goals would do it

Of the three you mention I think £10m. for Osula was excellent business.

One needs loaning to a lower league club for regular first team football and experience, but like you I am doubtful he will make it at our level, never mind above.

The player I would have kept if possible is Jebbison. He is a big strong lad with pace, and in the few appearances he had, at a very young age, he showed that he could bully experienced centre backs and make them very uncomfortable.

Jebbison on the same goals as our top scorer (Campbell, 5) in 6 games less so far this season

He's 19. Not necessarily a make or break age. I would say in the summer absolutely time though.
He needs to be playing football really though. If all we need is a warm body to be able to sit on the bench in an emergency if everyone else is crocked, I'd rather that was Marsh or Beattie

Jebbison also had good balance and could get a decent shot off both feet. In men's football, I thought he showed more promise than any of the 3.
He had a very mature game leading the line against Sunderland and a really strong cup showing at Millwall. I felt he was growing into the role then he inexplicably got sent off away at Wrexham and never got the same sort of look in.

The only doubts on Jebbison were his character, but looks like Hecky knows how to make him tick (what a manager he's turning into btw).

At academy level, Osula was pretty frightening. Of the 3, he has the highest ceiling but also the one I'm least sure about as he looks so raw in senior football and his decision making isn't the best.

Jury's still out on Oné, but he was impressive pre-season. I really want to see how he does in League 1.

Might this imply another forward (not necessarily an out and out striker) coming in?

Would Widler be happy with just TfC, Cannon, Ings, and maybe or maybe not Bamford, for an aspirational lunge at the play-offs?

well im not i definetly think we need a physical target man in now one has gone out on loan injuries to a couple of those 4 and were in trouble

I think he is happy with 4 strikers, assuming Bamford signs if he doesn’t, I imagine we will be on the look out for someone to replace. I think Wilder knows the One isn’t Championship standard level yet and needs to prove himself. He didn’t name drop anyone in the post match interview against Stoke but he did mention players moving away for minutes, imagine there will be a couple more moving out too.

We've got Ogbene as well if needed - although he might be going back too I presume
Not according to that well know transfer site.

Porktalk
Apparently we can only send him back if Ipswich agree, which is highly unlikely as he can't go out on loan again having played for us and Ipswich.
So unless they intend to use him which is even more highly unlikely I guess he stays here.

Playing week in week out in League One will be a true test of his abilities and whether or not he can cut it for us long term.

Osula went to Derby, didn't do a great deal then we cashed in on him. Still hasn't done a lot at a level probably above his capability but we did alright out of the deal.

Worst case for us is that he's no good for Rotherham and he disappears into obscurity, he does alright and he's a serviceable Championship footballer for us or he smashes it, a top end Premier League team comes a gets him and we slap a nice sell on fee on the top.

TBH I’d be tempted to move Campbell on. Wasn’t prolific last season and has been largely poor this season. Would get a reasonable fee and think we could look for a more physical forward while One gets some first team experience.

Don’t blame the seller, blame the buyer. We have made some really poor purchases and loan deals since our premiership riches, the more we pay,the worse they are !!
If you're talking about signing Brewster I can point you in the way of the biggest thread on the forum it's full of united fans absolutely losing their shit at the club to sign him at all costs

I know,it’s very easy to spend the clubs money, much more difficult to get good value for it.

I hope this works out for the lad. We have had some great strikers, at youth level, who could terrorize defenders of their own age and score for fun, often scoring hat tricks on a regular basis (Osula, Jebbison, Lankshear, Marsh, etc.), only for them to stall slightly when making the step up to the men's game. Maybe it is just lack of senior experience or maybe it's a confidence thing, or a combination of both.

If they offer £1m+ I'd snap their hand off, hes never going to figure for us, so cash in
So you'd accept £9m-14m less for a younger One than we did for Osula? Who has a similar striker profile and 1 more league goal for us?

He's 18. Plenty of time to develop. If we can't make a striker out of something like the raw abilities he has then we ought to pack up.
19 actually, but he's not getting a chance atm or in the foreseeable future with at least 4 in front of him

A lunge at the playoffs 🤣

We normally make a clunge of the playoffs

True but that is up to him to prove himself whether that is out on loan or in training. He can't have a negative attitude under Wilder if he wants to succeed/even have the chance to, it's been quite clear from the outset that with a Wilder team, having the right mentality becomes before talent which is probably why Wilder has does so well here. He can get those players that aren't as gifted to perform better by working at it, the "MK1" side that went from League 1 to 9th in the Premier League is a prime example of that, the number of players that were with us on the whole journey was incredible. It's a shame the Cup hasn't always been a top priority as I think Wilder could give us a good chance of going one step further than we have recently.
