One of the things people rightly say about our predicament is that not only do we have to gain points on those in the playoff positions, but we also have to out perform the 'traffic' currently between us and them. This is correct. We could be happily closing in on 6th, but not closing in enough on teams in 10th-13th, for example, as they are maybe also closing in on 6th. It's a good point, so I thought I'd have a look at something
- Form (PPG) of every team for the last 10 games*
- Work out how many points they'd score for the rest of the season if they kept up that form
- Add that to their current points total, to create a predicted final league table, albeit with non-integer results for points totals
Just for fun, remember ...

* I am aware I have picked a form of the last 10 because it shows us in good light. But this seems to be the point from where we started to play well again, and if we are being honest, still includes a couple of shockers in there. Also, 10 games is a lot, and form over that period of games seems reasonable for a forecast
