I understand they will employ some local folk. But 'many'? I wouldn't put them in the 'major employer' category.
It’s not just those directly employed, although there were many when the Administrator was appointed, but also those whose jobs/ living are directly related.

I voted no.
Like everybody else who said 'no' , obviously not a closet pig fan.
In my mind, you don't get a match that means any more about the meaning of football and being a fan, than when we we play them. It's the match that means everything to win and the hardest to take if we don't. That match not existing isn't something I want.

I'd be delighted to see them liquidated into oblivion. Let's be right that club is a stain on the game of football, match fixing in the 60's, nothing spent on the sty unless someone else helped to pay for it, World cup 66, Euro's, grants from the football league. Dodgy or none existant safety certs at the time of the disaster, changing ownership/board to stop proceedings against the club. Constantly spending money they don't have until the next save our owls capaign. Vile racist fans who mock the deceased, even fairly normal fans are totally delusional in thinking they are some sort of huge super club who have just fallen on a rough patch. I'd love to see them gone.

I enjoy the banter and the wind-ups.
But seriously, I wouldn't wish liquidation of a club on any supporters.
Why would I wish that much grief and despair on any fans, especially when some of them are my close family and dear friends?
Whichever club we support as a fan does not define us as a person.
I honestly don't understand all this animosity.

I feel quite sad that so many blades want them gone.
I don't.

There is too much hate in football and sadly in life.

I want them to be bad and get relegated but not more than that.

They are our neighbours after all.

It won't help us and it won't help the city.

I don't live in Sheffield so I guess I don't appreciate the hatred but it feels totally unnecessary.

We will all have friends and probably family who support them.

Let them go down to league 2 and us to the prem.
It will help United, as given it 5-10-15 years our attendances will rise, we’d attract better investment as a 1 MASSIVE large city teams.

If the fans werent deluded clever bastards that hate us to a man i'd be more sympathetic..

However they've got billionaire's queuing around the block and are going to dominate us for the next 100 years, any time now, yeah any time now....

So, for me, get them wound up, i would love to hear about "real football" grass roots football, with the most massive non league team ever, 3000 away to Stocksbridge etc..

The longer it drags on, the poorer the buyer will be, its screaming a consortium coppering up now and thier fans say they're "too big for ashley" and dont want him, Jordan has said "it's too expensive and he doesnt want to line chansiris pockets" how? by buying the best team in yorkshire for 30M? (In reality, too expensive for a "northern" team and he's not moving out of London to renovate that rustbucket) they also think Textor is unfit to own them and they dont want him..

Theyre on the edge, and they're complaining and putting potential owners off..

Theyre so dumb its scary.. i love it..

I could not give a scooby doo what they do, they are a football opponent that are a bus ride away. It's one less expensive drive risking life and limb to travel to some fuckwit town, to see United.
Hating people is far too expensive for me..

Like you lot giving the big 1 now.
I’ve refrained from any kind of WhatsApp wind ups despite the fact I could have a load of grunters on strings.

If you’re daft enough to be on a Blades board you shouldn’t be surprised to see anti-pig content! Now trot off porker or put up with it like a nice little piggy.

In all seriousness I reckon the way many United fans relate to this question is based around age. Some older forum members maybe used to watch both teams on alternate weeks and feel slightly ambivalent about their total demise. For many younger United fans we've been top dogs during their lifetime and although they may hate Wednesday they may not want them to go bust because it's been a piss take and an easy 6 points during their lifetime. However I also believe there's a large group of Blades (of which i fall into) that despise the cunts and all that comes with them. Anyone whose formative years took in Boxing day onwards and through the early nineties when (91 double apart) they were better than us and their fanbase was unbearable will absolutely relish their fall from grace and eventual demise. That's a lot of people. Maybe anyone in the 50 - 65 age bracket. These are the people that will have had to put up with all their shit for years without for many years a chance to put it right. Drink it in while you can and if you know a pig rub it in while you can, hopefully they'll not be around much longer.

So a few ecummy pubs in S6 close, and Beres have to close their shop on Herries Ruad. It's all part of a greater ggod.

What about all the construction jobs created, when the block of 200 flats are built on the rust bucket?

That Beres shop does fine, and would still be open long after the rust bucket was pulled down.

Whats the scenario called where they remain in the situation indefinitely?

I like the idea of them slipping down the leagues and then prattling on to Sheff FC on match day that they're a much bigger club than them, just waiting for right buyer, Bannan coulda played for Barcelona but preferred Wednesday instead or some other basic bollocks. I do also like the idea they're essentially in a relegation fight every season and we win them all the time too.

Its a difficult choice. I can't say I'd want them to disappear completely if I'm honest. I enjoy the rivalry and football is football to me I don’t take it too seriously.

Love them to end up somewhere below L2, see how many shirts you'd see then.

If they had been more humble I'd have some sympathy but fuk em! Giving it large with the #tunabucks and the abundant flashing of the cash along with cheating by selling the overpriced stadium which still goes unpunished, who signed that off at £60m??? It's only about 3 or 4 years ago and now it's worth £10m and I'm being very generous.

Also I remember them piping up about why are they punishing us, Chansiri is loaded we should be able to spend what we want. We're bigger and richer than the BR Prince, well not now are ya!

Those rules are there to protect you from this happening, you fiddled the books and then hammered the guy who was piling the money in, he didn't like you being so ungrateful so he cut your supply of money and suddenly he's the biggest c*nt that ever walked the earth.

This has been up about 24 hours and just about the entire time we've had about a 4:1 ratio in favour of their demise.

Almost 400 people. A pretty big sample compared to Kieran Maguire's friends.

I think be careful what you wish for, their demise was brought about by getting an owner who didn't know what he was doing
Edit: but I've voted yes

I see Clive Betts wants any new owners to demolish the Leppings lane end and build a new stand, so in effect a new owner buys the pigs on the cheap doesn't clear any debts they owe but builds them a new stand, like I said in an earlier post don't spend any money on the death trap unless someone else pays for it or helps pay for it. Should have demolished that end of the ground after the disaster but no they spent millions they didn't really have on the team in the early 90's
