… we come out to to play them at the Lane in February - knowing that if we beat them we send them down. They’ll be 13 games left after that point and would need to be 39 points adrift (currently 27 points adrift).

I mean come on..it is possible?☺️

I’ll get my coat

So currently they have picked up 8pts from 18 games so an average of 0.45ppg.
4th from bottom Swansea have picked up 17pts from 18 games so an average of 0.95ppg.

If all teams averages stayed the same then when they come to play us they would be 41 points behind with 42 points to play for.

Obviously this is an extremely simplistic view to take but I'm with you pal let's get our fingers crossed that we get to be the ones to officially condemn them to relegation!

Nice work. I couldn’t be arsed to work that out but seems like we could mathematically relegate them even though it’s a foregone conclusion. I’ll take that I’ll petition hard for it to be stapled to our honours board.

Don’t forget we have to beat them first. With a new owner they may have a stronger squad.
Let’s worry about what we are doing at present.

What odds on them staying up? That would be a great escape to defy them all.

Won’t happen off course, poor old wendies eh?!!

Pro teams here in the US are profit centers so whats the difference?
Salary cap
This - plus there are far fewer of them - only 32 pro NFL teams in a country of 300m.

Then of course is the parity in terms of payments to teams - every team gets the same amount from the league - but a Buffalo Bills hoodie and 1/32 of that goes to the Bills, the rest goes to the other 31 teams (is at least a simplistic explanation I was once told)

in view of today’s news it looks like you might have to do a recalculation 😀.

I'd suggest it's unlikely that a sale goes through in time for the January transfer window.

Would it matter anyway, seeing how they can only sign loans and frees until 2027?

Does that not fall away if the administration percentage is paid and all unsecured debts settled ?

The 3-window punishment was for non-payment so I don't see how it falls away it. It's a punishment for an offence already committed, unrelated to administration.

It'd set an awful precedent if the EFL relented on this, and other clubs would have grounds for a strong legal challenge.

They won't have new owner by then, admins have already extended the deadline for preferred bidders, nobody wants them, at least not at the price their asking
