PAUL PESCH WOULD MAKE ZERO SIGNINGS IN JAN

I would say we are light in Midfield but we have arblaster , chong & hamer to come back who are Top Championship players

Extend Bamford & Riedewald

Offer contracts to Hamer / Ohare / Campbell before they approach the last year

Who is Improving this + The umpteen players who cant get a game

-----------Cooper---------

--Seriki--Tanganga--Mee--Mccallum

--Ohare--Arblaster--Peck---Hamer--

-----Cannon --Campbell-----

Some good players.

I can see Reidewald and Bamford being offered longer deals than January. Will depend on how they get on but expect it to be till the season end or if one particularly impresses an 18 month deal.

I certainly think there is a chance Hamer could go. More than likely to Holland if the family stuff is true. But again a club would need to offer the appropriate amount.
18 months left on his deal, still should command a good fee for us to consider him going. Fingers crossed though we don't as he has quality.

We will have some loan slots to use of course. Barry has already gone back. Can see Ogbene going back and of course Godfrey.
Bindon I would also imagine will go back given he is not featuring.

So in theory we would have at least 3 loan slots possibly 4 to use.

Funnily enough the positions those above loanee's take are probably where we are short.
So another CB, a RB and more options out wide and even the top of the pitch. Because ideally One goes out on loan to get game time himself.
Although I do forget we signed Chong, and we've barely seen him play too.

Depending on his recovery/fitness I'd be happy to see Souttar back, plus an experienced centre back as extra cover.

I would expect a big striker who can be a target man for long balls from defence and for other forwards to play off.

A solid defensive right back would be welcome, as would a defensive midfield player.

Finally, I think most Blades would like to see a better back up goalkeeper.

I'd be pretty satisfied with just replacing the 3 loans that haven't worked out with (more fitting) like for like replacements.

Godfrey out for a reliable, defensive minded right-back to rotate with Seriki.

Bindon out for an experienced CB

Barry out for an exciting winger with a bit of flair. Preferably an actual winger... inverted wingers (Barry, Brooks on the right) don't seem to be as effective in our system.

Just a few positions that need addressing for me (based on current 4-4-2).

Extended deals for Bamford and Riedewald for a start.

GK: Cooper playing with an injury so need some backup for him, either Fraser Forster or Sam Tickle.

RB: It's Seriki's shirt to lose at the moment, but some backup that isn't Tanganga playing RB is needed.

CB: Some additional backup/competition for Mee and Tanganga, maybe Joe Worrall or Harry Souttar (if fit).

RW: With Ogbene injured (not sure he stays in January anyway) some good competition for Brooks, would like Romain Esse if available.

CM: Depending on fitness of Arblaster and Tom Davies, maybe an older experienced player like Cam Brannegan.

Before Pigs game I would have wanted a ST, but if Cannon can continue with his current form and performances, I don't think we'd need another ST, especially with an extended Bamford contract.

GK, CB, RB, Winger, ST (unless goals start coming consistently from the current 4)

Make room in the squad by sending back Bindon, Ogbene and Barry and then loan out A.Davies and Matos.

Pretty much agree although Oxford would be reluctant to sell Brannagan and would want too much anyway.

Where do we need to strengthen ?

Will Hamer stay ?

Bindon,Barry ,Ogbene,Godfrey,Shackleton,Davies (both) Out the door

For me we need a back up keeper 1/2 decent wide players creative midfielder and a striker if we move some out

Some of our business depends of sales.

Some of our fans complain we’re a selling club and will insist….we can’t sell Hamer or we can’t sell Cooper
However it’s not in our control….it we receive stupidly high offers for any of our players then of course any competent owner will be looking to sell
However it depends what replacements we have lined up too.

So this January any of our players could still be sold….this is a fact
But it’s nothing to worry about because we’ll only sell if receiving a bid above valuation.

Also a big factor for us relates to our Sky payments reducing from £35 million down to £8 million a year….if we fail to be promoted.
So we can’t afford to offer high long term contracts to anyone.

Suspect our main business will be in the loan market and we might look to offer Bamford and Jairo longer term contracts.

Would love to see Souttar back but don’t think it’s realistic.

According to reports he’s on £20K a week basic at Leicester until June 2028.
When we’re a PL club or receiving parachute payments we can afford £20K a week salaries
But next season we’re down to the standard £8 million Sky TV money….so don’t think we can stretch to £20K a week
And he’s never going to accept a pay cut to come here.

A quality number 2 to put pressure on Michael cooper

A right back in the Jimmy Dunne mould as a long term investment at right back.

Hamza Choudhury

Josh Murphy

A Gary Madine, Hanson type signing as a back up to Bamford - we HAVE to play with a number 9 in 90% of games in this league imo. I wouldn’t even turn my nose up at signing someone like Michael Smith

5 in, send 4 of the loans back (Godfrey, Barry, Bindon and Ogbene) and send Onè, Matos, Zatterstrom, Ukaki, Marsh and Polendakov out on loan.

5 in, 9 out. Quality over quantity

I would say swapping our current Loans out for the following; a more defensive minded right back, who can also cover centre back ( exactly like Godfrey should be doing), to provide competition/option, but not to replace Seriki. To have a at least one wide option, who is a more traditional winger in say the Jed Wallace mold, who his not inverted and can provide good quality delivery into the box. Another option up front, who has some pace and can help get us up the field in situations like yesterday's second half...with two up top and Bamford in the squad, I feel the target man, is less a priority. If we do spend any cash, should be a second keeper. Alos, despite all the options there, I feel the most important addition could be a quality starting level centre mid, otherwise we are reliant on a lot of injuries clearing up. Despite all that, providing we crawl away from the relegation scrap by the end of January, I would really like to see our own players given an extended run, given the circumstances. Worst case scenario for me, would be a team with 5 starting loans and bunch of ageing 1 year contracts like Mee, Reidewel, Bamford/Ings etc....all gambling on a long shot chance of reaching and winning the Play Offs. It would leave us in a terrible position for next season, that is more than likely going to be in the Champ. Proper starting runs for the likes of Seriki, Brooks, Peck etc..

12 games in championship 3 of which he never got a kick does not make a top end champ player out injured for a year and likely won’t kick a first team ball until January and he may not come back with the same level of potential within him

I think wilder is hoping to get Cooper to the jan trf window then get a decent back up keeper while he has surgery on an injury, he definitely isn't right but he'd rather Cooper at 60% fitness than the other clown

I was thinking him too, or that Belgian they have. Not even gonna try and spell it.

Brannigan has been at Oxford so long, I'm not sure he'll ever leave. He's like their Barry Bannan... Too good for them, but very loyal

Will COH open their wallets ?
I'm not sure where this comes from that they don't spend anything?

Cannon in Jan - £10m

Wilder pay off £???

Tanganga - £10m + whatever else they spent on Matos, Chong and McGuinness etc.

Sellés pay off £???

Bamford and Reiderwald outside of a transfer window

They have backed both managers well. They've made a stupid decision to bring sellés in, but spending can't be questioned
