3 months away but planning will be in place... I reckon we need at least 3 new signings and offload a few? No matter what position were in, we need at least 3 in! (No midfielder needed if Arblaster comes back fine and Davies stays fit)

(Big twat)

Im happy to send back Bindon and Barry if performances dont improve or they aren't needed. Players like Ukaki, Nwachukwu and Marsh can go out on loan.

Thoughts?

No point getting another striker in unless we go two up top as he'll just be another bench warmer, but we must give it a go.

We definitely need a big nasty midfield destroyer to replace Souza. Someone that's athletic enough to be box to box and to cover for us having two up top and 1 less in midfield.

I doubt Soumare is going back (not that its relevant as we won't go up at this point) but wasn't it a loan to buy?

JTW is a long way away, Wilder needs to get some performances out of these players over the next 3 months, as this squad is better than its performances. if we are still bottom 3 in January we will be properly screwed and unlikely to buy our way out of that.

Send back loans who aren't playing, get some youngsters out on loan (both for development, game time and bring them back in the summer with a spring in their step or to be sold), maybe bring in a RB or CF if either an experienced player can be identified or genuine young talent is available.

Assuming this squad gets itself sorted, I would rather we saved our pennies for next summer rather than wasting money in January on what I hope will end up being a low to mid table finish anyway.

Selles 433 formation didn't work as we didn't have the players in midfield for it. It also was made worse by inverted wingers creating nothing.

Since Wilder has been back 3511 or what ever it is, has improved things a bit but not enough yet. Last season after Souttar got injured our performances were poor and we were very lucky in some games to get 3 points despite creating very little. Portsmouth and Plymouth games at home were that way but of course our luck ran out over the 3 game in a row loss. We were playing 4231 with Souttar and Souza being the dominant players.

Under Selles our back 4 looked terrible. They defended too narrow and gave up space outwide. Tanganga is more skillful than Souttar but Souttar was a great organiser. The organisation is being left to McGuinness who is a pound shop imitation. We can get away with it if we strengthen midfield as a lot of the players in there take too much out of the ball. Arblaster or a Tommy Doyle is required.

This season just shows that decision making, organisation and drive that propels team performance isn't about selecting the best players but about the best fit for the team.

If we're still struggling after xmas we can't trust Wilder to blow another few million on duds, we'll need someone in who can stave off relegation and bring sensible signings in to shape our future

We will be looking to scrape safety while trying to cash-in on Hamer and send some expensive loans back. It will be a money saving exercise.
The only faintest of irrational faint hopes is that the owners are prepared to speculate again but they've copped bloody noses with Cannon & Matos so it's doubtful.
From what you read on here , it's not even certain that they've fully paid the Prince yet , so there could be all sorts of financial shenanigans to come.
Strap in for a very bumpy ride along the bottom.

I think Prince will be looking to get the club back at a highly discounted price now the parachute payments have ran out and the Americans will want to start again with a differentclub abroad.

Brilliant! Think somehow even the stupid Americans won't fall for that😊

Excellent post….. this is our legacy after earning circa £400 million from our Premier League years!!!! Yeah a few good things to the stadium…. But honestly gross mismanagement of funds to leave us almost skint going into 2026/27 season…….barring a miracle!

Damn those wages and running costs. The wastage up to this season has been on some rather large transfer fees.

Exactly they made a complete mess of a great opportunity - manager recruitment -why did they offer ( no interview process ) the job to a successful failure then the complete farce of recruitment when stats from the previous season clearly showed where the failings were

Any evidence he wasn’t interviewed ?

( l’ve actually asked this before btw)

60m on Brewster, McBurnie, Moose and Cannon and not a penny back

What you read on here about still owing PA money is taken from Companies House and can be taken as evidence. It’s not the kind of speculation you seem to prefer.

What kind of financial shenanigans are you contemplating and based on what? Just padding for effect and likes.

You aren’t allowed to say that!

(To keep sheets dry, it’s not a dig at CW, these things happen throughout the game but that spend explains weer munnies gon in the big scheme of things)

Not sure really , but disputes between previous & current owner might not auger well for future funding.
Just expressing the disappointment of looking back over the rollercoaster decade since 2016 and realising we seem to be approaching a dip without much prospect of a climb.
Effect & likes ?
No , just facing up to what seems to be a downward trajectory.

We need a target man .. Anyone suggest a 6f 5inch forward we could get who is not an out and out James Hanson style cart horse

Agreed if you're on about transfes fees IN but at least McBurnie and Mousset contributed to a 9th place finish in the PL that would've brought some munneh in..
They also contributed to us getting a 20th place finish (twice on McBurnie’s behalf).

Of course the 20th place finish can’t be fully attributed to them, but then by the same logic, neither can the 9th.

Haven't looked on companies house but what does it say? I know there was a clause in the sale contract that committed a further payment to the Prince if we were promoted. Is there a further instalment due irrespective of the division we are in?

We never do early anything. It's all so pedestrian, everything recycled around the edge of the box, attacking players on their heels, almost hands on hips, waiting for SOMETHING and giving ample time for the opposition defence to organise and set. We so rarely attack the opposition final 3rd at pace and ask questions. Unless we change the system, I don't think it really matters how many we have up front.
Wilder has always had us playing like this, even in the first spell. I remember him criticizing the players for listening to the crowd and hurrying balls into the box during the Championship promotion season. He wants them to recycle, recycle, recycle and wait for … well currently that bit isn’t clear, I have literally no idea what his plan is to create goal scoring opportunities.

PA has a charge. Presumably relating to any monies not yet paid as per the sale contract.

Have you seen the contract?

Nope, but I know someone who knows someone who was intimately involved in the deal...and all that malarkey....its not revealing anything that you wouldn't expect but there was a clause for a substantial further payment to the Prince had we gone up, which makes perfect sense given where we were in the table at the time of the deal

I asked because l wondered if other info was leaked, ie the payment schedule for the shares.
