3 months away but planning will be in place... I reckon we need at least 3 new signings and offload a few? No matter what position were in, we need at least 3 in! (No midfielder needed if Arblaster comes back fine and Davies stays fit)

RB
W
ST
(Big twat)

Im happy to send back Bindon and Barry if performances dont improve or they aren't needed. Players like Ukaki, Nwachukwu and Marsh can go out on loan.

Thoughts?

A striker has to be the priority. Campbell is a quality finisher but not the best at hold up play or in the air. Plus he is the type to pick up injuries. Cannon can go. One is limited but hopefully can improve. Millwall paid 5M for Josh Coburn. I thought he would have been ideal for us, decent touch for a big lad and a real handful for CBs.

We have to hope Arblaster can get fit enough to play soon. His style of play with Peck or Davies is better than Peck and Davies as a duo. Davies takes a few knocks in every game. Keeping him fit will be challenge.

I think Ogbene has potential in the RWB role and wish he would back himself more. I would be worried about him being injury prone. For me Seriki isn't up to the job. Like Brooks he has been knocking around of the edges of the team for a good few years now and we haven't seen improvement. Brooks mentaliy and decision making are a concern.

Bindon is a strange one as he appears to have all the attributes to be a good centre back but he has not been able to put in any consistent performances. Barry looked promising initially but like Bindon has had a few poor appearances and has dropped off Wilders radar. Chong and Soumare are two that we need to start putting pressure on to get into the team. Both are athletic and a better option than Matsos who is like Conor Washington, runs around alot to get involved but not really any good at anything.

I really hope some of the season loans have break clauses in them without financial penalty. Wilder obviously doesn’t rate some of them with good reason.

Alot can change between now and then. There are areas we are short in right now regardless. And unless an academy graduate somehow crops up we will deffo need some re inforcements.

Certainly RB and ST dept.
But it could end up extending into other areas

Need? Yes. There's surely not going to be any money though. We're staring at a £45m cliff edge. £55m if we go down

1) Will we really splash the cash if the playoffs are completely out the window?

2) What kind of player would be able to attract in a potential relegation battle?

Gotta feeling it’ll be more outs than ins. Already made mention of the size of the squad.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see most of the loans returned, Wilder spent most of last season trying to replace Seriki so I’m certain he’ll go for another RB.

midfielder and striker are what we need in january we havent replaced souza despite getting 13m for him and for me we need a target man type of striker we havent replaced moore either it will enable us then to get early crosses in to the box which we never do

I get what your saying re Moore and early crosses but even when Moore was here it hardly ever happened.

Wouldn't be surprised if we went back for Jimmy Dunne

The focus must be solid, experienced players. As it should've been in the summer

We never do early anything. It's all so pedestrian, everything recycled around the edge of the box, attacking players on their heels, almost hands on hips, waiting for SOMETHING and giving ample time for the opposition defence to organise and set. We so rarely attack the opposition final 3rd at pace and ask questions. Unless we change the system, I don't think it really matters how many we have up front.

It will cost us a lot of money if ( when ) we go down , so this is our last chance, one striker ain’t enough, get 3 in , fuck it it’s last chance saloon, change the way we play ffs , and get it in the box at every opportunity, just whack it in there and start scoring goals ffs .
Jan might be to late anyway the way we’re playing at the moment .

Don't know why we didn't go for him and Harry Darling as well. £2m and they'd both be in red and white - peanuts for quality and experienced players
And Mepham. And McBurnie. No doubt other similar players. We'd be a completely different team. Maybe uninspiring to some, but well inside the top 6

Look how Boro have recruited. They've gone down this route under Rob Edwards. As a result they're up near the top

We need a full back ones whose a natural defender I’d then move Seriki into the Ogbene role as he can both defend & attack . Also tall ball winning centre mid ( Souza replacement) Soumare isn’t that player & let’s see how Chong goes with the injury but he can play other midfield roles and a target man who can hold the ball up ( Moore replacement) .
In the likely event these would need to be loans I’d return the following to their parent clubs

Bindon
Barry
Soumare
Godfrey
Ogbene

I’d being looking to loan Cannon out to free up some wages for a replacement & if we hadn’t bought Matos & McGuinnes ..basically the recent recruitment has been dross ⚔️

January will be focused short term on survival & a bit of the longer term on reducing the wage bill. Not sure how we can do that but I expect Hamer to be sold.

Spine needs sorting. Strong, capable, combative midfielder and striker.

Easier pointing this out than recruiting in our position.

Got to hope we can find a way to score goals and become a more attractive proposition by January.

We need half a team and CW to change his tactics. It's up to the owners and whether or not they want to own a club in the third tier.

Out:
Cannon (Stoke might be interested if they're still around the playoffs)
Godfrey (Terminate loan)
Bindon (Terminate loan)
Soumare (Terminate loan)

In:
Balanced right-back (someone like Emil Krafth on loan)
Reliable CB (Willy Boly on loan)
Arses-off-seats left winger (Tom Watson owes us, loan)
Physical CF (Yousef Salech)
