Surprised it was that long tbh. Thought it would likely be a contract till end of season with option for club to extend for an additional yearWhy only a 2 year contract
I think Peroni is too?Madri's brewed in Burton![]()
92 points and a play-off final that could have gone either way wasn't enough eh?Let's hope it's Wilder mark 1, and not Wilder mark 2 were getting.
A few goals would be nice.
And some entertainment
Bit harsh but I guess you coke heads spend most of the match off your head instead of watching the footy. What is the point in your existence?
I bet the Mrs is desperate for you to bore off.
Nope92 points and a play-off final that could have gone either way wasn't enough eh?
It's a Sheffield Wednesday fanBit much that.
For whatever his faults (real or perceived) I don’t think he deserves anything like that vitriol.
He’s here, we’ve all had our say. Some people have got what they wanted, others haven’t.
But it’s time for some sanity and to crack on
Some people are completely dug in and make themselves look absolutely insane as they won't admit they got it wrong92 points and a play-off final that could have gone either way wasn't enough eh?
Not at all, I’m not against getting rid of Selles, I just think they should have stuck to their long term aims for the club, put someone in temporary charge and hired a progressive manager that could deliver what COH want. You'd have been happy with League one then

I think that what reappointing Wilder is really. A safe caretaker. They still want to take us in a different direction, and they'll have a longer think about it. Reappointing Wilder largely unites the fan base, it's a cheaper option, he hits the ground running, and he should get us competitive againNot at all, I’m not against getting rid of Selles, I just think they should have stuck to their long term aims for the club, put someone in temporary charge and hired a progressive manager that could deliver what COH want.
I'd say it's more like 13 1/2 to be fair mate, stop exaggerating.Back in the day we'd stand at the bar and chew the fat about the game. Those that didn't go to the game (no time/part time supporters) generally kept shtum cos they'd get a gob full if they were too opinionated. We knew that we were just laymen and fans, we had our two penneth but nobody thought they knew more than the professionals employed within the game.
Nowadays everybody is a pseudo football manager/coach/physio/agent/chairman ........................ the fuckin internet, great init!
People moan and say why can't we just change culture and be more like Brentford or Brighton etc etc. Well if it was that easy there would be 80 odd other Brentford/Brightons in the league. It isn't that simple, obviously!
I'd love to go the match, see us win 5 nowt every time playing lovely flowing, beautiful, creative, innovative football. I'd also like a 12 inch dick (but I suppose i'll have to make do with the 14 I've got). It ain't going to happen. So I'll take winning 3 points sometimes ugly and enjoy my post match beer.
Why don’t you rate Wilder?Non stop negative what the %£#@ are you on about,
I don't rate Wilder and take exception when people say safe standing will increase the atmosphere when it won't.
Can not think of anything else i have said that was negative.
While you are here can you tell me how I go about getting a ticket for my dad for the game against Leicester on the 1st of Jan he has not been for years and has no buying record ?
Surely, if you unpick all of that, you're saying that Wilder might be a progressive manager. That you (and indeed everyone else) don't know? It's not that at all.
I didn't want wilder out at the end of last season but I was happy for a change.
I appreciated that a new manager would probably get less points, but the trade off was more entertaining football, and moving in a different direction with AI money ball scouting, a DoF, foreign players etc.
For whatever reason Wilder wasn't part of that.
The strategy is the right one imo, as other, more successful clubs than us are doing it. The simple reason it failed is that Selles was the wrong man. The plan isn't wrong.
Thanks to Selles we now need structure, organisation and most importantly, points. Wilder will give us that, and should ensure that we remain in the Division this season, with an outside chance of something better.
I'm glad he's coming back if he gives us structure, organisation and points, but I want some entertainment in there as well, and despite 92 points last season, the viewing spectacle was dire. Sneak a goal and lock up shop. Zzzzzzzz
Wilder mark 1 was great, successful and entertaining, then the flounce. Wilder mark 2 wasn't successful (92 points wasn't enough was it?) and was a long way from entertaining. I want mark 1, not mark 2.
Hopefully that explains my position. I'm not "dug in" but I don't understand the circle jerk from some on here, who have been blindsided by 92 points and have overlooked some of the serious limitations in Wilders management. He's not a progressive manager, he's a safe bet and thanks to Selles we need that. We still need to head in a different direction as a club, and if Wilder can adapt and change and get us there, then great.
I still want to see goals and entertainment though whoever is in charge, and I didn't get that last season.
Here's hoping we get Wilder mark 1 again, and the circle jerkers will be happy, and so will I
If he adapts, then why not.Surely, if you unpick all of that, you're saying that Wilder might be a progressive manager. That you (and indeed everyone else) don't know?
Fingers crossed. I'm ever the optimist (regardless of any evidence to the contrary). If he adapts, then why not.
He's got several weaknesses though, and he'll need to address them. If he can do that, then he could be the future
Let's see.
Agreed. Like you I want the club to succeed.Fingers crossed. I'm ever the optimist (regardless of any evidence to the contrary).
It’ll just be the original “new” contract he signed at the beginning of the yearWhy only a 2 year contract
Yes, we saw that with the views of a small minority on the ultimately inconsequential two point deduction. Some people are completely dug in and make themselves look absolutely insane as they won't admit they got it wrong
