All I hope for is he has learned something from both the mk 1 and 2 eras.
Might be daft, but I have a quiet confidence.
Not going to be all roses and petals.
We are at the moment, disjointed, split and afraid.
BTW
God bless our Battle of Britain Pilots

As daft as it sounds, maybe the long break has been a blessing in disguise for Chris (if not us) and has done him good overall. He certainly looks well.

I was one who felt we needed a change in the summer. I was happy to give Selles a chance and genuinely wanted him to do well. Obviously, that wasn't the case.

So lets see what a refreshed Wilder can do. Hopefully he’ll have reflected on the last couple of years- the good and the not so good bits- and he can breathe some life into the squad and the season. He’s got a good squad to work with. I’m hoping for more Wilder 1.0 than Wilder 2.0 to be honest. Either way its nice to feel positive again.

Shame as a club we can't move on from Wilder.

Wanted Selles to succeed but it wasn't meant to be, there are plenty of other candidates that could turn this around.
Seriously what’s up with everyone, some people seem to be jealous of his money ( go and be a fucking football manager then !! ) some people say there are other candidates, WHAT look as us now ffs no points-11 goal difference, bottom of the league Wendy above us , get a grip !!
Just get behind the man and the team hopefully we can turn this around, I love the guy really glad he’s back !

The club has totally fallen apart the last two times Wilder has left. It obviously needs modernising behind the scenes. No well ran club goes into turmoil because one man leaves. I can't think of any well ran club in the last 20 years who have completely shit the bed after a manager left.

Managers in the modern game aren't as important as they once were. If you have a proper structure in place, the manager is just someone who can get you that extra 10%.
It's why Brighton and Palace change managers all the time yet never fall backwards whereas Man U appoint the supposed best coaches in Europe and never progress. Long term success is always dependent on what's going on above the manager.
Well going back further Man Utd totally imploded after Matt Busby retired and seem to be going the same way now.

Will be interesting to see how many people who said ‘I’m done with united if Wilder comes back’ actually stick to it.

I imagine many of them are the same who think that those who like Wilder, put him above the club but conversely will refuse to watch us now he is back.

Interesting times..

Pathetically predictable.

COH talked about the club finally doing things differently. A more progressive style of football and a modern way of recruitment.

They’ve now ripped all that up because they got the wrong man in the summer and we end up with the football dinosaur again, and the risk of Brewster/ Cannon style signings whenever we have some money in the transfer kitty.

By reappointing Wilder, not only will it just continue the odd promotion on the back of turgid football & no hope of getting a foothold in the Premier League, it also asks serious questions of our ownership due to how easily they have folded like a pack of cards.

Clubs don’t always make the right calls, they certainly didn’t with Selles, but they had made the right calls re a change in how the club do things and now they show how flighty they are by just binning all that off and going back to Mike Bassett style management, instead of keeping the long term mission in place and trying to hire the right man second time round.

I don’t think I can handle watching Wilder’s grinding football, or listening to the crap that he spouts.

Utterly depressing.

What can we expect first?...a director of football or Jack Robinson...😃
Jack Robinson as defensive coach in 2029 as a last ditch gamble during Wilders unsuccessful fifth album leading to a long hiatus between the club and manager in their famous on again off again relationship before a successful golden years revival sees Wilder return for one last season to stave off relegation in 2035.

What’s depressing is that all that is semi plausible at this point.

You’re right that it’s a failing of the owners.
First the Prince ran to Wilder to bail us out and now COH find themselves in the same boat.

At this stage I’m just happy we have a ‘Chris Wilder’ to turn to while our ownership issues rumble on…

Greatest manager in my 50 years of support, and I am absolutely buzzing he is back
Friday was the closest I've been to A) Walking out before the whistle and 2) Finishing with this great club for good
So fed up of the owners, Selles and the team, but this is the best news we could have hoped for
Hopefully he'll be appreciated more now too
He's one of our own etc 😁🎶

I’ve made my peace with it now, I have accepted we are an unserious football club, if it works and keeps us up then fine, if it doesn’t we are back in League one and well we have been there before.

We are never going to move up to the next level as a club and be like a Palace or Brighton on Brentford we have absolutely given up on that idea that is clear now.

What will be will be, I am not worrying about it.

For Cannon/Brewster see Cooper, Baldock,Stevens, Burrows, Fleck , Norwood, McGoldrick, Coutts, Ndaye, Berge, OConnell, and many more.
All managers sign a duck egg now and again that cost a hell of a lot more than we spent.

He is the right choice now to steady the ship.
Some of us were hoping for a change of direction both on and off the pitch. Sadly the manager recruited and the players brought in were errors by the club.
Maybe CW has moved a little towards what the owners have in mind ?

Inevitably comments on Wilder degrade to his personality (which I approve of), but the most important thing is that he’s a good manager at this level, which is hard to come by. We should aim for the top 6.

Names are irrelevant, if you seriously believe there's NOT A SINGLE MANAGER that can turn things around for us, I despair.

No. I asked for names. You obviously know a few.

Giving selles a few months in charge was just a ruse to get us to sign some forriners

I stopped worrying about it years ago - just enjoy the ride
