Selles presser after the game

Whilst I agree that we were better than previously and did control the game for the first 20 mins or so, they were still cutting though us and created chances whilst we created nothing.
They then imposed themselves on the game and our guy did not have a clue how to change things, he stands on the touchline looking like a demented dervish, waving his arms around but nothing works as he is so far out of his depth.
It is pitiful and I feel sorry for the guy, he has had two weeks of the international break to change things, still not creating chances, still not stopping the opposition, he really should be removed from his position for his own good,
I wouldn't say they were cutting through us, we are just incredibly open at the back and they had a few chances, not necessarily through their own creation.

Agree that it's a matter of time now, he'll not be our manager for much longer.

They paid £100m+ for the club (though likely not out of their own pockets).

Was their big idea really just to back this poker player's software to propel us up the leagues?
A weird strategy that they've now seemingly abandoned..

There was no obvious recruitment strategy. They filled the ESC slots with total unknowns with bizarre links to said poker player.

They sacked Wilder and replaced him with Selles who'd been sacked by Hull...
No news on the training ground or academy.. loads of departures behind the scenes.

We're no clearer on what their plan is as they continue to hide in silence.
They seemingly don't see communication with their customers as particularly necessary...

What's the craic?

At least Selles has a pair of bollocks on him.

Rosen, Eltoukhy?
I'm sure there'll be a couple of tweets when we win a game or two, but you're coming across as a right pair of weasels as things stand.
I totally agree with everything captain Morgan says, on his post

These owners, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave him another game against Charlton nxt week

They won't want to admit their wrong in appointing him in the first place

Should have gone after boro defeat for me

Because our opponents were less than ineffective. We caught them with our press consistently, they couldn't keep the ball out build attacks. The commentators and pundits all said we were the better team.

First chance isn't the same as first shot on target.

That's your opinion, calm down.
We lost by 5 🫣

Your defence of the way we played as acceptable. That had a direct bearing on the score. It’s really not that difficult.
I've not said the way we played was acceptable. I said I thought we were much improved on previous performances, and were the better team in this game up to about the hour mark, where we were one goal down which was scored after a fluke deflection straight to Philogene.

The scoreline AT FULL TIME is a disgrace, the way we played TAKING THE GAME AS A WHOLE was not good enough. I've already said all this, you just cba to engage with it in good faith.

Have a nice day.

We were not the better team. That’s my whole debating perspective.
Messing about in midfield with no cutting edge and being piss poor at the back because you leave yourselves wide open, is not being the better team. The only improvement was a DCM next to Peck and he was half decent. Once he tired 40 mins, we were shot.

I don't disagree with Selles' comments to be honest. We were away against a very good team and the first half wasn't bad.

At first we actually looked like we had an organised and structured press and could cause them problems. The reason we didn’t was because we were playing a front 3 of Brooks, Barry and Cannon. I actually thought Cannon did OK in parts but the two wingers were absolutely dreadful with their end product. (On a side note why do we never seem to be able to recruit players who can cross a ball). Swap Philogene for Brooks and I think we go in at half time winning the game.

The first goal was a bit unlucky and I still don't know how Matos has managed to play a perfect 45 yard cross field ball to their player. The third also was just terrible from the players. Selles can't do anything about whatever Burrows and Cooper did for that one.

However, what is on Selles is that it takes him an absolute age to put any sort of fires out. Against Boro it took him far too long to realise Boros wing backs were in too much space and could easily get at us. Against Milwall it took him far too long to realise Cannon should never play on the wing (had he made that change earlier or just not started him at all we probably wouldn't be on zero points)... then last night, it took him far too long to realise that our full backs were backing off too much. Wilder would have bollocked Godfrey the first time he let Philogene have as much space as he wanted to cut inside. Godfrey let him do it time after time and eventually got the first two goals by doing it. Yet Selles leaves him on until the 82nd minute after he's just put in one of the worst individual performances I have ever seen.

For me, that's the reason he has to go. He's completely inept tactically.

And what exactly is vertical football?!

Wilder used to say there are only three ways to score goals.
Over the top, down the sides or through the middle.

I can only assume vertical football is over the top? AKA lump it forrard.

I heard that presser and he’s either a blatant liar or totally deluded. We started brightly but not a shot on target. As first half wore on they had multiple chances with less possession whilst we reverted to our toothless selves. Can someone tell him it’s about scoring not conceding goals

You were the better side for a lot of the game. The problem is you were absolutely garbage up front and have defenders that don't know how to defend. Add to this your GK should have done a lot better.

The goals by Philogene were all excellent strikes. The problem is your defenders gave him the space each time. Ipswich played suicidal passes at the back with no consequences as there was nobody sharp enough to take advantage. Is this the fault of Selles or are the players brought in just not good enough?

Selles needs to go and now. How can a club go from an amount of points that in the vast majority of seasons would have got automatic promotion to wondering where the first point will come from.

Apparently, the owners were at Ipswich. I hope they told selles, we have ordered a taxi for you to Stansted Airport, now piss off back to Spain.

I'm not going to 🤥 sten to him a tomorrow because it's irrelevant. He can say what he wants but it's a disaster. And what exactly is vertical football?!

Unless Google's AI tool was having a spectacularly bad day when it came up with this definition/description of 'Vertical Football', I think young Mr Selles has been telling a few porkies using this terminology to describe what we've witnessed when United have taken to the pitch this season!

Sounds good on paper. When are we going to start?

Ah so vertical, in the horizontal plane, much like the use of the word sick by da yoof.
The English language is not what it used to be.
