I think you have to wish him well. When asked to he always stepped in - even this season.

Issue wasn't Jack he was always good backup, should never in a million years been our 2nd choice CB, Souttar never being replaced goes down as one of the worst decisions ever, and to buy Cannon at that stage you really couldn't make it up.

I think they can absolutely be useful if you do it right. I think it was Klopp who said that these long throws are really hard to defend against if the attacking team knows what they're doing.
Unfortunately, we never seemed to have any strategy other than Robinson just throwing it into the box.

Difficult to convert when the throw taker aims for the keepers hands 95% of the time.

To be fair not much different from what Rory Delap used to do, not sure if it was the speed or what that caught out so many defenders

Imagine if we'd spent that money on Japhet at the time. We'd have almost certainly gone up.

Fair play to the ref there too. He didn't fall for any of it. We've seen plenty of refs who would have given that a red card, but for that one sweet moment it was, "Play on." and, "Get up yer gret sissy."

There is a real mixed reaction to Jack Robinson. When he first played for us he was error prone. Misjudging high balls and delivering fright of the night frequently.

What we had was a limited but motivated player that wasnt PL class and wasn't our idea of a good centre half. We have depended on him more and more each season. Which has more to say about recruitment and selection than Jack. Souttar wasn't replaced was the biggest mistake.

For all of his faults and emotional reactions, I think he was one of our signings that delivered more than expected. He didn't cost alot and was by no means a bystander on the pitch. One memory I won't forget was the 2 all draw at home against Chelsea. The first 20 was all blue. Then Jack went through the back of Cole Palmer. Took his booking and the forward players in Blue didn't want the ball for the rest of the half.

I have been critical of a number of our players but its on rational discussion rather than emotions after a loss. The players I don't like are not the ones that make mistakes but the ones that hide, couldn't be bothered working for the team or are named Dean Hammond.

Jack Robinson isn't on that list so I wish him well.
