No, but I’ve got some footage of him running away from the ball.

Thanks for reminding me of Man City’s 2nd goal, which basically killed the game.

Think it sums up Max Lowes lack of effort/ couldn’t care less attitude. He gives the ball away to Mahrez on the half way line. Then he proceeds to jog back making no attempt to win the ball back off Mahrez.

At least Robinson would have tugged him back giving away a freekick risking a yellow/ red card.

I also agree some of the vitriol aimed at Robbo isn’t quite reflective. He did have plenty of very good games for us and regularly played liked he cared, altho think that because he’s plays with emotion which can be a positive and a negative. He’s a winner, losing makes him angry, quite vocal, loves a ruck squaring up to opposition players who want to fight.

His downfall was fairly regular errors, sometimes gifting the opposition a goal. So he stood out as being the scapegoat and would receive verbal abuse from our fans. Instead of ignoring it, sometimes you’d see him shouting comments back.

Even taking into account some of his weaknesses he’s still decent, probably average Championship standard and should have been a backup/ squad player for us. However for whatever reason he was a regular and his performances polarised the fanbase.

We loved his commitment, particularly good at sliding tackles and seems passionate with a will to win like he cares.

But he’d be playing well then slip when receiving the ball and they’d score an easy tap in. This kind of blunder error happened far too often and our fans grew tired treating him like an accident waiting to happen. Wish him well and might do well at Birmingham but glad he’s gone.

I thought at the time we brought him in that it was a somewhat strange move for us as a Premier League club doing well at the time to bring in a bloke who was little more than a middling Championship centre-back/left back from Forest (who at the time were basically Preston in red), had had a few clubs and never really nailed a regular spot down anywhere.

Yet there we were at Chris Wilder's knackers yard, trying to get some bangers running of which he was one.

The recruitment from January 2020 up to Wilder's first departure was nothing short of horrendous with the exception of Berge and maybe Bogle. Nobody else displaced the existing starting eleven who themselves were about to drop off the peak of what they could achieve. We backfilled the players on their way out with ones that were worse and were relegated.

Robinson is the sort of guy back in the days of 1 month loans who you'd bring in to plug a gap when you were short of a few bodies and are sat somewhere in mid-table, did an unspectacular job then goes back to his parent club to sit on the bench again.

A good performance was one where he didn't make an obvious cock up that led to a goal yet he inexplicably kept getting a gig and even the captaincy. If Souttar hadn't got injured, Robinson would have gone at the end of last season and we might have gone up.

In reality, its taken until now to adequately replace O'Connell with Tanganga who is actually ours, as opposed to an average at best stop-gap who somehow ended up playing 150 games for us.

Good phuckin riddance a bomb scare of a defender who'd gift a goal every 3-4 games also a red card waiting to happen. Wanna be hard man with limited ability I absolutely hated the twat another one who'd blame anyone but himself when it went tits up. Sold about 4 years too late cos Wilder loved him for the up and at em shite.

I just think that some of the things said about him are bang out of order. A lot of what fans ‘know’ actually start of as one persons assumption which somehow get repeated enough for it to be ‘fact’.

You've hit the nail on the head there, these unbalanced opinions are started by those who don't have time to debate, because their 'opinions' are set in stone.
Once the social media frenzy starts then every misplaced touch is highlighted with outrage.

I wish him all the best though.

Some of the fans will be desperately looking for some more new scapegoats this season I fear.

Tanganga's performance against Boro only increases my belief that had we signed him instead of Cannon in January, we'd be a premier league team right now.

We conceded over 100 goals in the premier league with him and Anel as mainstays in central defence. Then went on to keep clean sheets after clean sheet with Anel and Souttar in the championship. Souttars injury and the return of Robinson to the starting lineup and we started to concede more. Doesn't take a genius to spot the correlation.

I won't miss his long throws, or his poor distribution which included slow bobbling passes to his fellow defenders. There was a game towards the end of last season when Holding came in for him and our play out from the back was much more effective and we won comfortably.

Having said all that, for the celebration against the pigs alone.... I wish him well.

Bang on.

Come on, folks, I (like you) support Sheffield United and I have spent the entire 54 years I've been watching us shitting my pants at every potential defensive bomb-scare in our penalty area, whether that be players like Harry Maguire and Eddie Colquhoun, Jack O'Connell and Chris Basham, or Steve Faulkner and Nyron Nosworthy. Maybe I'm an old peace-loving hippy (I have got all the Gong albums after all) but I don't hate any of them.

Sounds like you should buy a mirror, "wanna be hard man with limited ability"
For all the red card waiting to happen comments, he didn't do too bad in that area for us did he?
I don't know you and I'm judging ymou on 1 poorly written and hate filled post, however I would much rather be in the trenches with JLT than you.

Hmmm.... Strange another (championship )club give him another contract and maybe one more in for him !
Plus who knows how many appearances as a professional footballer....
You'd think clubs would have cottoned on to this perceived ineptitude that Jack appears to display so clearly...
Us fans know better though don't we
(Like fuck 😏).
However, fans are entitled to opinions...I just don't share the barbed negativity towards Robbo....been a bloody good servant and capable defender.
Too right

Good luck to him, at least at Birmingham he will have communication from the owners in a more professional football management structure including a Director of Football.

I think that what sums him up is that despite his experience of playing at a high level for a long time, starting with Liverpool at a young age, you could never really see this on the pitch. He could never be paired with a younger inexperienced player, as he didn’t have the level of quality.
Thanks for being a committed player and good luck in the future.
Now at least we can move away from the long throw!

Some great performances from Robbo especially those sliding tackles but there was always a costly error in him and with age the big errors got more frequent as we all know.

I think we should have terminated his stay a couple of years ago but we all know Wilder was too loyal to him.

I wish him all the best but also glad that Birmingham have taken those more frequent costly errors on board

Two of the new lads can give it some.....

Other than the occasional crunching tackle what did he actually offer the team? Losing his man constantly? Backing away from people running at goal? Wrestling with people at every set piece? Wasting possession in the opponents half with his throws to the keeper?

The main reason I’m glad to see him gone is he seems like a negative personality to have in the team, screaming at his team mates, arguing with the ref, picking fights with other teams and even his own fans at the end of last season.

Overstayed his welcome by at least two seasons and contributed to us failing to get promoted last season. Good riddance.

Just know, he’s going to come back and haunt us, when we play Birmingham City. It’s in the stars.
After all the pelters he’s been getting on here, he’ll certainly be motivated!

Doubt he will even get a game he's at least 4th choice and anyway what's he going to do shirt pull the ball into the net. ?
