Is this one of our best transfer windows yet??
Brought in some really decent players, especially in defence!!
And although the manager was a mistake, it looks as though they've realised they needed to invest.
Well done.
Don't get too giddy just yet, let's wait and see how shite, I mean how good they are 😉

So exactly who is going to be able to win a ball up front?
We have 3 CF's all of whom have little aerial ability as they prefer to play off a bigger striker.
Maybe we play with a false No. 9 a la Barcelona.
Can't see a problem with that as we've done so well without one so far.
PS - how is Moore doing these days playing for that well known dinosaur Parkinson?

Taken in isolation it's a decent window on paper but it does feel like some of these deals could've potentially been done weeks ago to help the manager. As it is he'll take the rap for their lack of suitable planning.

Not saying it's easy to sign players early doors but we look to have knee-jerked into action

I'll reserve judgement on how successful it's been once we get playing again and hopefully start picking up points.

One thing I will say though is they've certainly chucked some money around the last couple of weeks.

Tanganga, Matos and McGuiness won't have been cheap. I'd imaging the loan fees for the likes of Ogbene, Godfrey etc won't have been cheap either.

Now let's see if Selles can get them playing or get rid and let someone else have a go with a, on paper anyway, decent looking squad.

Hardly makes them Abramovich though. Incomings funded by Souza, Moore and Anel sales plus parachute payments.
I don’t think the owners ever claimed to be. They struggled to get the deal over the line & had to raise money right until the end. I’m not sure why you’re expecting anything different to what we’re experiencing

I think we're still overall weaker than this time last year. But fair play for pulling the finger out at the last minute, when other administrations would have had a catastrophic fax machine issue.

We will see. 3 players from Luton who have just had a double relegation. Ings at the end of his career. Ogbene coming back from a very serious injury. Matos young and unproven. Tanganga should be a great signing though. Godfrey should be OK. At least we have got some bodies in and realistic competition for team selection. Best bit of business could be keeping hold of Hamer as long as his head is right.

This is why we need to play 3-5-2 now we've got some strong defenders in, a couple of good wingers either side of a holding MF allowing the other 2 MFs to push forward to support the 2 forwards.

Largely agree. Some of that spend will have been offset by outgoings.

No excuses now Rueben

Tanganga a great signing and Chieo if he can get fit will do well. Rest look mediocre and / or small and / or injury prone.

Glad they snapped out of the initial plan which was disastrous. Burnt 12 points, although I attribute most of that to the manager as there’s enough quality here to not look the worst team in the division by a country mile. Let’s hope they come to their senses in relation to him so we can get up to playoffs.
