Couple of things, Hamer had his lowest number of touches vs Swansea per 90 mins since he's been here.

O'Hare is absolutely wasted on the wing.

My team

Cooper
Seriki - Bindon - Robinson - Burrows
Soumare
Hamer - O'Hare
Brooks - Campbell - Barry

Unfortunately Peck has failed to pull up trees under Selles and think this balances our midfield a bit better.

I like the thinking but with that defence unfortunately it needs more protection.

We need 5 at the back or 2 defensive minded midfielders.

That team has c30% possession in any championship game.

I would play Peck instead of Hamer but deep next to Soumare. Let Hamer play on the right hand side of attack. O'Hare in midfield supporting the forwards.

Cooper

Dovy Bindon Robinson

Seriki Soumare Peck Burrows

Hamer Barry

Campbell

(Seriki and Burrows bombing on attacking like wingers supporting the front 3.)

That team makes most sense, rather than aimlessly trying something different every week just go with what worked in preseason and created lots against Bristol City, but with Soumare as a more competent holding player than Peck.

This is the best we can put out.

Millwall will probably steamroll us anyway, as things stand But that's what happens when you piss about like we are doing at the start of a season. Absolutely shameful if we go into the weekend without signing some more experienced players.

Brooks---O'Hare----Hamer----Barrie

Peck can’t start with his current form.

I’d probably start the team we did against Bristol but with Sourmare in for Peck and Robbo in for RND.

I like this … management is all about finding a system that suits the majority of the players you have. Seriki and Burrows are both ideal wing-backs. The 3 CBs would give us a solid base.
Hamer and COH are freed up with Soumare in behind… so can concentrate on linking to the front or creating overloads with the wing-backs.
Campbell and Barry … should both have goals in them given the right supply.

I do like this, and would reduce us from needing 5 in immediately to potentially only 3 (plus some squad fillers)

A replacement for Seriki, Robinson and Mccallum and that would be a very strong team 👌

Those suggesting 3 at the back, we had 8 games trying to get used to 4-3-3. Why would we spend a week suddenly trying to play a completely different formation?

We are at home, we need to at least try and carry on from the first half of the Bristol game.

Soumare in, JLT in to that side makes it a bit more stable and solid.

Soumare in for Peck for me.

Hamer we know is quality, O'hare is someone who I always see pressing and has the engine to do it.

I hope Selles doubles down and commits on this and the players back him.

A big statement win at the weekend followed by some incomings is exactly what the club needs and gives the fan base something to get behind.

Need reinforcements urgently as we all know. Just can't help but feel the selection against swansea is the best side he can conjure up at moment and even still we look crap. Unfortunately can't see anything other than a millwall win

I wouldnt disagree with that view if that 8 games of trying to get used to 4-3-3 had made us look remotely functional. Unfortunately it hasn’t and we need to rapidly find a system that suits the majority of our better players. Our current full backs are both stronger going forward and our centre half pairings have been very shaky. It therefore makes sense to try a shape that strengthens us centrally and frees up Burows and Seriki to play to their strengths.
Many of our academy lads will be very used to playing with 3 CBs and wing backs in the past.
Totally agree with your other sentiments about the importance of this game…. could be make or break even at this early stage.

quite like the 4141 that stretch has suggested but also like nidayes 3421 set up and just favour the latter as im sure seriki and burrows are far more effective as wing backs peck isnt playing well enough just now to warrant his place however if our wing backs are given licence to bomb on playing peck and soumare might be the best policy whichever system selles goes with he has to win this one or hes in big danger of losing his position

I think it looked functional in preseason but i take your point.

With 3 at the back, does that work with a high press? I liked the energy we showed up to half time vs bristol. If we can keep that in any formation we play, that would be positive!

When was the last time he beat Millwall at home??

And do we see this as a must win game already?

As much as I'm a back 3 supremacist, we just don't have the CBs at the moment.

I think it'll be 4-3-3. At least against Bristol City we looked good going forward at times. I think we'll go with that shape again and hope that Soumare can protect the defence better than Peck did. The only question would be whether you start Peck or O'Hare with Soumare and Hamer.

I don't think he looks 100% fit, and given that he missed our 1st preseason game against York due to a supposed injury, I wonder if he's still carrying that a bit.
