Coventry might take our £5m or £8m and upgrade to the CB we really want.

How embarrassing is it that we're in our second year of parachutes and non-parachute clubs are outspending and out-recruiting us ?
Something very wrong down at t'Lane
We could sell some players like they have
Hamer ?
Cooper. ,?
Tek yer pick

Involved in yet another goal

He's certainly a magnetic monster in the box

I can forgive certain shortcomings on that basis but its important to have the right partner alongside him. Zatterstrom most suitable from our likely bunch

We writing players off before the offers even been accepted now then, let alone actually watching them play for us?

There's plenty of stats, graphs and metrics that have already been posted in this thread showing he would be a downgrade on Anel but cost a higher price than what we sold Anel for.

Is Hughes really better?
Are either really good enough for the fees mentioned?

I do t think they are, but this is what happens when you sack a manager, replace and then fanny about chasing pointless AI signings when the first team is devoid of the players needed.
You’re left in the shit and panicking.

2 years we’ve had a problem at CB, 2 players sold and over £20m brought in.
That should have been more than enough to get 3-4 quality players in for this league on permanent deals, never mind loans where you’re then starting again every pre season.

Transfer policy has been wrong for years and incredibly seems to have got even worse.

If he isn’t that good:

How is this data/analytical stuff helping?
How have we got to a £5m valuation?
Why are Cov on the hunt for a CB?

Puzzling?

The analytics back him up. If you look at them. They don’t portray that he’s a terrible player.

I just think many are looking at him with unconscious bias, because “he’s not as good as Hughes or Doyle”, therefore they’re probably exaggerating his weaknesses. If Hughes was having a nightmare for Hull, but we had a bid in, there wouldn’t be anywhere near as much worry.

But haven't we got £40m more than non-parachute clubs to start with , never mind the sales of players we've done ?
Probably got a much higher wage bill and running costs and who knows how much of that money was spent last season

If we had 40 m to spend ,I'm sure we'd spend it

You do know that parachute payments are designed to assist in paying wages to existing players that are likely to be on big contracts for the Championship, not for teams to go out and buy new players?

We paid £500k and if you think we’re replacing him with a 24 year old starter for that kind of money, I think you’re expectation need re-calibrating.
There’s no way we’re paying £8m for this lad.
Don't think the phrase adjusted for inflation is hard to understand.
Point clearly stands in terms of a similar fee in low millions for an average Championship defender who hasn't played as high a level as Robinson and probably isn't any better.

I couldn’t really say either way to be honest as I’ve not ever really took notice of him, why would I?. But seen as you obviously have followed him so closely tell me why he’s so shit??.

Mate, I saw what you saw. He completely missed a cross within the first 2 mins, his positioning on Derby’s first was questionable, he gave a penalty away. On a positive note I saw a couple of nice long range passes, he scored and was involved in another goal. However what I didn’t see was a center half that took command in his own box which is exactly what we need. Neither did I see an £8M pound player. I might be completely wrong but if I had to make a decision on today’s performance alone I wouldn’t be shelling out that amount on him - just my opinion.
,

I really liked the look of him today.
He was all action. Not a leader, a bit chaotic but a bit of a battering ram in both boxes. I'd like him

He’s not coming here close thread down
Why, because Lampard said he wants to keep him, Rooney said the same thing in regards to Cooper last summer.

And Selles would have felt the same about Anel and Souza.

The fact that this has been leaked by a credible source, talking about bids being put in, means that Bobby Thomas is willing to come here.

It's the first part of any transfer, you make sure the player is actually interested in joining the club, if they say yes then you move on to personal terms and bids etc, if they say no, you move on.
