Something that might be of interest that I’ve searched regarding the net worth of the owners.
Helmy Eltouky $483 million
Steven Rosen unsure but he bought a mansion in Florida for $6 million
Pejman Nozad $50 million- company $20 billion
Joe Russo $80 million
They’re just the ones we know of so it doesn’t seem they are skint, just tight or don’t have a clue!

All the gear and no idea.

Does anyone know what Bettis’s involvement in Utd is, a quick look at companies house shows only two Directorships, both for dormant, personally owned enterprises, he has resigned from all the previous Directorships he held at Utd?

Don’t know where you are looking.

Rich people are the tightest of the lot.

Reading between the lines from comments from Wit and a few other Wilder allies it seems like the issue isn’t the money being available, it’s this Bord character and how involved he wants to be with the recruitment.

Thanks Sean, thought it was odd, must have been the result of the google search that then linked to companies house and out of date info. 👍

They agreed a deal with The Prince before last season had even started. They certainly didn't buy the club thinking promotion was assured. I've no idea what their plan is but it's not right for say they bought in just because promotion looked on. When they actually agreed a deal, we looked a club in complete disarray with barely any players

Deal was agreed in principle, but when push came to shove, Princey moved the goalposts down the line and wanted add-ons.

You're theory still rings true though.

I could well see that. I find it laughable a poker player is wanting charge of our recruitment.

There is one thing having substantial personal wealth and another using some of it to invest in new players and the every day running of a championship club. The scary thing is that it is not just a quick one season fix, they will need to be prepared to fund the club every season. We are not one of the very few clubs that are capable of generating enough wealth without the owners financial support.
Unfortunately,i get the feeling that not all of the COH group of individuals are buying into the reality of funding an EFL club every season just to challenge for promotion with no guarantee of success. The plan of selling your best players to make up the shortfall every season only works for so long, until you are left with players that have little or no value. What is their cunning plan, rather than buy the ready made article,we will buy some unknowns and turn them into exceptional players that will be sold to help make the club self supporting,it’s that easy……That’s Magic !!

I thought the Cannon signing was from the data/analytics guys and Wilder didn't have much input

Precisely

Nothing about Cannon's stats would suggest that he'd be a viable signing for £4m. No about of misty-eyed revisionism changes the fact that this was a signing suggested by Wilder and signed off by the board on that basis.

For the avoidance of doubt, those stats are honking. Here's Campbell's as a comparator (and this probably helped convince the board that Wilder knew a good forward):

I think the most concerning this that Bettis is here, basically running the club and saying absolutely didly squat on what's happening
It’s a tough one. His usual is to do an interview after the window closes.

Conversely he can’t also come out to placate fans at every turn.

However it does feel on this occasion a certain amount of “read the room”. Folks are between anxious to livid. The Manager has also felt a need to express his disapproval. A few words wouldn’t hurt to at least acknowledge that the magnitude of the task is known as are the expectations and it’s in hand.

It's been hard to interpret the board's silence so far, and the lack of transfer activity.

But the more time that passes, the more I'm of the opinion that they simply don't know what they're doing. They're novices to a new market, they're inexperienced and naive.

We haven't got time for them to serve their football transfer window apprenticeship, we need recruitment now. Christ, hope they're seeking out some support and guidance.

Its not cash though its assets etc, what they are worth not necessarily what they have free cash to spend. They might only have $5 million in the bank poor luvs.

I'd like to think it's because he's busy trying to get new deals INTO the club.
And that he will do his annual September statement after this.

Also whilst he is a director. He will need the permission or instruction of the ownership to do any sort of statement on any significant matter.
He can't do it of his own back anyway.

Best thing COH can do, apart from BUYING PLAYERS!, is get rid of this Bord twat and sack Bettis, they'd be better getting Warnock in as DOF, atleast he has a fucking scooby about how a club should be doing business!

It’s all very well saying wait and see, judge them when the window closes, but the season kicked off last week.

Great, if you can bring in additional bodies to bolster the quality of the squad in the last two weeks of the window, but to be reliant on 6 academy lads playing the opening fixtures of the new season is beyond amateurish and quite obviously counter productive to any aspirations of promotion………..should they exist?
