It’s all very well saying wait and see, judge them when the window closes, but the season kicked off last week.

Great, if you can bring in additional bodies to bolster the quality of the squad in the last two weeks of the window, but to be reliant on 6 academy lads playing the opening fixtures of the new season is beyond amateurish and quite obviously counter productive to any aspirations of promotion………..should they exist?
Only 3 played v Bristol City, who were all first teamers last year and I’ve no issue with playing the reserves in a cup game

Something that might be of interest that I’ve searched regarding the net worth of the owners.
Helmy Eltouky $483 million
Steven Rosen unsure but he bought a mansion in Florida for $6 million
Pejman Nozad $50 million- company $20 billion
Joe Russo $80 million
They’re just the ones we know of so it doesn’t seem they are skint, just tight or don’t have a clue!
Danny Cadamarteri has left the academy and has not moved on to another job. I wonder if this is part of a cost cutting exercise and our finances are worse than we think

It's been hard to interpret the board's silence so far, and the lack of transfer activity.

But the more time that passes, the more I'm of the opinion that they simply don't know what they're doing. They're novices to a new market, they're inexperienced and naive.

We haven't got time for them to serve their football transfer window apprenticeship, we need recruitment now. Christ, hope they're seeking out some support and guidance.
Owners own, operating staff operate. Bettis is the CEO and in charge of day to day running of the club. The owners r busy doing their other stuff thst actually makes them money and will have 4 board meetings a year where they discuss the running of the club v the set out plan.

They will have set a budget that says how much they r prepared to put into the club on an annual basis ( maybe be nothing for all we know) It's then up to the executive staff to run to thst budget.

There will be a budget for transfers even if it is say only half of what we raise in fees.

I suspect the problem is the owners dont have as much money to spend on the club as we hoped BUT we dont have a good enough internal infrastructure to deal with the transfer process efficiently and both are holding up transfers in

Seen somebody mention a relegation scrap, well were 40-1 with William Hill right now..

And for COH if you're reading, we have relegation in UK soccer, meaning you play in a lower value division the next season...

I know a lot of Americans do not realise that this is what happens to a team that fails..
Lumped on the other day. Can see those odds rapidly shortening.

They've finally realised it's a no sum game. Chucking money at players to stay in the Champ is a complete mugs game and these guys aren't mugs.
We are simply their toything.

I'd like to think it's because he's busy trying to get new deals INTO the club.
And that he will do his annual September statement after this.

Also whilst he is a director. He will need the permission or instruction of the ownership to do any sort of statement on any significant matter.
He can't do it of his own back anyway.
If that's the case you'd think he be on the blower to the states, saying "look the locals are getting restless here due to the lack of incoming transfers and 2 shit results should we not give an update before it's shoes off in the car park again" 😂

Problem is Kozzy, they’ve lost the chance now to be simply deemed quietly efficient.

We’ve genuinely lost a game we would expect to win because the recruitment was incomplete. We don’t get to go back a redo that one with a completed squad. So for me at least, I can’t speak for others, that -3 is on them.

Now they may pull some stellar signings in the next fortnight that makes up for it over the remaining matches. I hope they do.

But for now, they are falling short of expectations.

Its not cash though its assets etc, what they are worth not necessarily what they have free cash to spend. They might only have $5 million in the bank poor luvs.
At the end of the day we’re just a business to them. Only here to make money and I don’t believe their statement about wanting the best for us fans. At least the prince admitted he didn’t have the funds to keep us going.

If Bettis is actually in overall charge of running the club then god help us

Says the voice of experience?

I can’t believe the number of captains of industry, experts on law and financial experts we have on here. It gets more like than Facebook everyday.

Unfortunately they all seem too busy counting their cash to put some meat on the bones of their claims.
