COCK PISS PARTRIDGE
We've had far worse.
That one was just unfortunate to be attached to our lowest league finish for thirty odd years.

That's certainly the limit of a number I know.Blades and Wendy only strive to be above each other.
So they tend to gravitate to the same division.

This weekends already ruined for me!....I'm off to SwanseaWe take football way too seriously.
22 millionaires kicking a ball on a field should not ruin the weekend of grown men and women. But it does!
I’ve always felt exactly the opposite.A significant portion of our fans overrate (or overlook the shortcomings) of our academy players (or those who have played for us at youth level) when they play in the first team.
At times like this I feel like too many of our fans are utter prats. We've all got concerns but it's clear too many can't wait to get on people's backs at the first opportunity.
All so depressingly predictable and will probably end up with another self-fulfilling prophecy. People can't even fucking wait for the end of the transfer window.
If fans drinking, having a line of coke and scapegoating players determines whether a club underachieves or not every club in the country is screwed. That United will serially underachieve due, in part, to the toxicity of the fan base and need to scapegoat players in order to make themselves feel better about their lives and, somehow, show their love for the club. Drink and drugs plays a part in it too.
If you can't go to a game without getting p*ssed and/ or high, a driver for crap behaviour, that's a personal behaviour issue that affects others. I agree, there was a time when an away day was a piss up for me, kids changed that. But I don’t think it affects us as a club more than any other. If you can't go to a game without getting p*ssed and/ or high, a driver for crap behaviour, that's a personal behaviour issue that affects others. You're correct but that doesn't alter my point

I agree he's overrated by those that think he's a star already. We had fans saying he carried us last season ffs....Pecks overrated…
In a history of Sheffield book I read about 30 years ago it stated that Sheffield's 'problem' was that it wasn't (and still isn't) situated on the main North - South trade route. This explains both Sheffield's reputation for quality and our current relative lack of wealth. Towns on the trade route, including Leeds with consequent lower overheads in travel costs etc, could sell inferior goods at a lower price/higher volume. Sheffield traders couldn't transport as much stock to market (Bawtry was our nearest major trade centre) but could still make a good living selling less goods but of a higher quality and price. So it also made sense that ancillary trades (banking, travel, tourism etc) coalesced around the trade centres.Sheffield, as a city, lost the race to be Yorkshires most prosperous, largest city in Yorkshire to (dirty) Leeds. Leeds is a European city, Sheffield is just a city in Yorkshire. Even though we have trams, they have an airport, are a huge banking and financial centre and the local media are based there. It actually pains me to admit all of this. The football stadium and fan base are much bigger than ours and they are one of the bigger clubs in England.
It’s similar to when we sold Beattie to Stoke. He was by far our best and most influential player, but IIRC we were about 5th or 6th when we sold him and ended up finishing 3rd and taking it to the last game due to others chipping in and being more balanced.Hamer is our best player, at the same time there's a reasonable chance we'll be an overall better team without him. (I know weird right- and probably unpopular!)
