You can bet your bottom dollar that if Wilder was still here and we'd performed the same way in pre-season and in transfers loads would be backing him making excuses that we don't need many players, and don't panic, in Wilder we trust.
No we wouldn't.

We'd have scored ten goals less and conceded three less.

exact same as Wilders, lack of foresight for a quality CB, no lessons have been learnt from last season, we’ve been crying out for a BIG experienced centre half since Souttar left, so it seems that Selles seems to think Robbo bombscare is good enough, when we ALL know he isn’t, so we didn’t replace, now we have another massive HOLE, he has totally neglected any sort of preparation to improve what was ultimately our demise and Achilles heel for last season, now we need TWO quality CB and not bloody on loan, with next to no rumours or a hint of who we maybe going for if at all with 4 days to go, I despair……

The new owners seem to not have a strategy for the club, they also seem hellbent on surrendering their investment…

We all, well most said the same after December about defence and how it will ultimately duck us over, which it did, and now we’re saying if you don’t do something about it NOW, then we’re screwed this season.

Think Norwich, as that’s the trajectory we’re in at the moment mid table fodder.

Sort it out Selles, and the board.
Getting some use out of this lad today

Read the post again, we’ve needed replacements since December, my post is about being short sighted, which is exactly what your reply is…

How is that Selles fault (blindspot) it was certainly Wilders
Im pretty sure he knows we need at least 2 x CBs now Anel is gone and who is to say hes not working on it
He may have to wait until later in the window to get the players he wants

Theres some fucking bedwetters on here

The only accurate bit of this is “now we have another massive HOLE”.

Wilder's blind spot wasn't quality defenders per se, it was failing to replace defenders properly when they had a long term injury.

The trouble is when you have owners with no money (obvious now) you have to sell before you can recruit. So we end up four days to go with an unproven CB and Jackie long throw plus a youth as back up. Four days to get two CB's but everyone now knows we have cash to spend and slap a higher price on players we are interested in like Hull have with Hughes. When are we going to ever learn to get players in before we let ours go as all the other sensible clubs do. Year after year we leave ourselves short and vulnerable a few days before the season starts. We now have to pay a higher price or go without, if we don't get two good CB's in sharpish we can forget finishing top six the defence is nowhere near good enough.

Why do you insist on this? I'm almost fascinated.

"obvious now" 🤣

If you needed a car for work would you sell it before you found a better one or would you get a better car then sell the old one? Quite simple really you'd buy the new one first if you had the readies or risk being without a car if you couldn't find/afford a better one.

The first game is Saturday and we have some gaping holes in the squad. Is this more likely to imply that they're loaded or skint?

I don't know where to start with that.

Ok...

Most people would need to sell first.

This analogy doesn't relate at all to the crazy world of football transfers.

Is it Selles though?

AI? Owners constraints?

I give up, I tried to make it simple for you to understand 🤷‍♂️
I believe I just demonstrated that I understand.

What I can't understand is your steadfast insistence that every scenario is bad, doom and gloom and that situations can never change.

We haven't spent money yet... But we might in the few weeks. For example.

Imagine you needed a car, but all the garages were stockpiling the best ones amd charging premium prices. But all the cars on Facebook marketplace weren't good enough...

Then I'd keep the car I already have.

Your car doesn't want to start for you. It's refusing to go to the garage. It's seen that your neighbours have bigger garages.

You're doomed I tells ya!

What about if there was nothing massively wrong with your car. It just needed two new tires and a new exhaust. Why go to the extreme of buying a new car altogether when you can simply fix these problems in the meantime?

A new pair of boots and a pair of shin pads ain't fixing Robbo.

As soon as the final whistle blew at Wembley we all knew we would lose Anel, Hamer and Souza it was manager of when and how much.

However, the owners would he mad to sign replacements until sales have been made and signed off.

We sold vinnie and a week later we have a replacement in.

I fully expect replacements before the window shuts for Anel and Hamer (should Gus leave)

However I think we will need a year of pain while we transition to this new style and way of being and the owners learn about the game.

My prediction 8th.

Genuine question, why are so many fans pissing their pants more this summer off the back of a near promotion, than last summer when we got relegated as one of the worst embarrassments in Premier League history?

Please stop criticising Selles at every opportunity for not bringing in players when you have no idea what's going on behind the scenes, and there's still a month to go until the close of the transfer window.

Get a grip.
You should have listened to football heaven tonight with the Wilder supporters bleating on,we are skint,Seles got the sack from Hull,92 points, half way through a rebuild, reeks of Slav, the owners should talk to us,boo hoo ! Some supporters are desperate for us to fail so they can say “I told you so “. It’s sooooo boring.

Surely this should be transferred to the bedwetters thread!

Year of pain is followed by a transition down to competing without parachute payments having lost a lot of our quality players.

I think we need to be a little more realistic about the financial implications if we don’t go up this year. It will be a huge task to maintain a promotion / playoff challenge.
