I liked the look of Jamar Loza, on loan from Norwich at Southend watched him tear Oxford United a couple of new ones this week. Pacy, never stopped running, could pass and shoot, only 20.

Callum Wilson's another one for me right age right attributes, could flourish with our Nige.

I reckon Billy Sharp would work well in a Clough team and if he aint getting a regular game for the Saints then he might just come back again for one last crack - but only if we are in the Championship.

Other than that I would leave it to Cloughie - he seems to know what he is on about

I am not sure he would, i am not saying Miller is as good as sharp but they are similar players and Clough seems happy to play with no recognised Striker. Miller hasn't really been given a chance and i think that is because he doesn't fit in with NC plans.

I would like us to keep the same system as we are now for next season, but I think clough will go to his preferred 442 formation, once he gets the players he wants.

But if we do stick to this 451 counter attacking style, I think the young lad from Rochdale Scott Hogan. he's the leagues 2nd highest goal scorer, is pretty direct, and by all account a team payer as well. But obviously questions may be asked if he can take the step up. I think he's probably classed as a midfielder, but I would like to see him operate in Baxter's role.

Don't get me wrong, I think Baxter is a quality player, but we need a goal scorer.

Here's a quick vid from Rochdale's YouTube channel, see what you think.

Miller is not fit enough or sharp enough after the cruciate - Clough often uses a 4-4-2
If Miller was at full fitness and on his game and NC could pair him up with Porter or Paynter then he would

Maybe, will continue this discussion in the shout box tomorrow usual time around kick off :D

I would def go back and try for Callum Wilson - he looks the real deal to me.

I have a member of staff at work who is a Coventry fan, and he can't praise Calum Wilson enough although he says he is injury prone. That's the only bad thing he has to say about him. Of all the aforementioned I'd say he is one of the most realistic.

Billy Sharp won't drop to L1. Darius Henderson should never be allowed in the City limits again. Derby will probably sign Bamford if they can at the end of the season regardless of promotion. Best shouts seem the suggestions from lower leagues or a couple from some L1 sides.

I was about to say Loza, looked great the other night and fits the counter attacking style. Obviously Wilson would be a good one to go for as well. I'd like to see us continue without a traditional big man next year so either of these in front of Baxter would be very effective (hopefully).

If yeovil go down, we could do with james hayter or the other lad, don't know too much about yeovil, but they always seem to score every week regardless of who they play

I totally forgot about him. As ex blades go, he fits the bill. Did well for Oldham as well last season.

Not sure how 1 goal (in a 4-2 defeat to pigs in cup) in 4 appearances at Oldham constitutes as "did well".
Slew hasn't scored a single league goal in 22 appearances so I'm not sure how that fits the bill either.
I never rated him that highly when he was with us anyway, I'd stay well clear of him - plenty of better players out there and available

We need a foreigner. Someone Brazilian maybe. We haven't had a Brazillian in the dressing room for ages, well not unless Sam Hashimi has popped in to say hello.

Shame that Argentinian lad just signed a new contract, what's his name...muddy..fessi I forget, but his wages of £350 grand a week might have been a bit of a stumbling block.
I think sharp would fit and might even be tempted into league one if only to prove he can do it at the blades given a proper go instead of winger/ attacking midfielder, Wilson would be a good 'un too

Bet he's made up that he listened so intently to his agent eh :o

Oh, ok i thought he did better than that, and i never looked at the stats. In that case your right, we need to keep looking.

Tin hat on...Conor Wickham. The pigs reckon they are still after him so we must be able to afford him.

Also, we get 'wouldn't come to us' or 'why would he step down?' etc. when talking about players from Yeovil, Coventry etc. FFS. With the Blades on an upward trajectory, we are becoming increasingly attractive. Throw in good crowds, a superb stadium etc. and it would be a career move for many.

Then the boards of these clubs could throw in the old '...we couldn't stand in his way...' as we usually do.

graf, you've left out the most attractive selling point, a certain Nigel Clough. I'd doubt there's be any more persuasive factor than sitting down with Nigel, listening to what he has planned, and then reaching for a pen to sign that agreement.

Watching the results come in, we need a 'game changer' such as Bournemouth got with Grabban & Kermogant. Nahki Wells at Huddersfield. Not suggesting them, they've gone. But anybody with an eye for a player knows what's needed. See Callum Wilson (Coventry) scored again...

Craig Davies was brilliant for Chesterfield, pretty good for Barnsley too (including 5 in one game if I remember rightly?) and is apparently not wanted at Bolton since they have sent him out on loan. He works really hard, is good in the air and on the ground and his speciality is cutting in from the left and belting the ball into the far corner.

You mean the same Craig Davies who played against us recently for Preston? Who plodded all night, couldn't do a thing right, and was as unimpressive as I can imagine? Before this game one of their supporters came on here telling us how Davies was one of their superior players that we wouldn't live with.....well on that display he's done well to get paid for playing at this level.

That's the one. When Davies is off form he stinks, just like every other centre forward, but the fact that Preston fans think highly of him tells you that he has more good days than bad. Ask your friendly neighbourhood Barnsley and Chesterfield fans what they think.

You mean rather than judge him when I see him play?
