Think it's a little cringeworthy personally. Why do people need a dedicated area to make noise?

Because it's Arsenal and they're the 'Prawn Sandwich Brigade' writ large.

Also, expect them to claim they've sold out their entire allocation in minutes - they've been lying about attendances at The Emirates for years. Last Tuesday, on Radio 5 Live for the game v. Swansea, the commentator mentioned 'masses of banks of empty red seats'. The published crowd? Just under the near-mandatory 60k. There were probably around 40k there. Yes, some may not be able to make it, some ST holders may have thought 'Swansea? Fuck that!', but we're talking mass manipulation of figures here. Imagine in the emergency services, stewards, catering etc. gear up for 60k and there's only 2/3rds of that...

Ahh, but if you notice, like Hull they're not selling the £60 seats. Too many corporates fat arses to please. You can understand it though. When you watch highlights, there's hardly a whisper from the 60k crowds even when they score. Put it this way, I reckon 30k Blades will make more noise than their players are used to. ;-)

'Stakeholders' will be well aware of the anticipated crowds for these games.
The number of people actually passing through the turnstiles for each match is officially recorded and passed to the Police etc.

The figures are freely available via a freedom of information request if someone is bothered enough to go out of their way to actually request one.

How can they justify booking fees of £2 per ticket and £2.40 per booking?
Fleecing the fans, pure and simple. Blades aren't doing that.

We`ll be the loudest happiest bunch down that neck of the woods over that weekend, thats guarenteed.~:)

...or maybe Arsenal agree with the muppet on 'Wednesday Heaven' last night. He made great play of congratulating all the local teams - Rovram, Chessie, Baaarnsley - even United!

He congratulated us on getting so far in the Cup even though 'it's a greatly devalued tournament with most Premier and Championship teams preferring success in their divisions.'

Jealous. Bitter. Cunt.

I think it's very sad that a supposedly big team needs to designate an area to 'create an atmosphere'.. Useless set of fans if you ask me, who if they hadn't paid so much for a season ticket would probably be now supporting Liverpool or city!!

I'm in the designated area (132). I'll make sure it's a singing section, don't worry!

It is true though, that at Wembley, the fans are spread over such a large area, that several different songs start at the same time, or the same song, but not at the same time! What we need is a conductor standing at the front coordinating us all. Morgs anyone? :)

If we score at Wembley the roof is coming off. Can you imagine how loud shoreham boys we are here will be. It's going to make the Seattle Seasquawks look quiet. Prepare for an earth movement London.

...it wasn't called 'the library' for nowt...Emirates is even worse for atmosphere in my experience (although that was only the 6-0 drubbing by their kids in't league cup?) ..looks nice mind and the 'facilities are marvellous darling..'

UTB!

Agreed except most av commented on the volume levels at our previous visits and this would help a little. Also those wanting to go in those areas would be guaranteed a top atmosphere in their area too.
