That's a great metric. Also, think of Bennie Treore. Easy comparison - similar positions - he looked lost with us, these two look like they're getting up to speed but not out of their depth.

Tbf Benie Traore was the best player on the park in the 1 preseason game he played before being sold

Interesting one of the comments n Barry's view from said he's the fastest player they've ever seen. Super quick wingers on both sides at once could cause teams all sorts of problems

He played against Palace and tried hard, but looked out of his depth.

As others said, he was by no means our waorst player and was just a low budget replacement for N'Daiye.

I liked his directness. He also played some intelligent passes. Looks raw, maybe an option for the second half of the season. I think some U23 football or a loan would get him up to a level. Remember McAtee against Luton? Shows that everyone needs to start somewhere.

I am hopeful that we will also be in a good place for them to grow from.

Traore started in a PL side that was just... terrible. not sure he was ever going to do anything to impress us.

Ukaki and Caceres will hopefully both be coming on, to start with, for players like Brooks or Peck, after 60 minutes and hopefully with us in the lead.

Bit like One, he can come on and cause chaos and see us put our foot on teams throats, rather than to close our a tight 1-0 win.

I think Adrian Littlejohn is probably the fastest player we've ever had. Well, relative to the time he played for us. I seem to remember he won a sprinting competition on football focus or something similar?
That would've been the Rumbalows Sprint Challenge shown on Grandstand. He was only representing us as John Pemberton was injured. Littlejohn was fast but Pemberton was really fast. Neither as quick as Kyle Walker though.

It’s not easy to stand out in the Premiership. As we found when we were last promoted the jump was dramatic. I’m not sure this type of stature suits English football though, most of the small wingers tend to be stronger than they look or really skillful.

A friend of mine knew Gary Cahill and he always used to say how strong Raheem Sterling was despite not having the biggest build.

Most full backs in the top two leagues are pretty quick so you usually have to have a bit more than pace these days.

Luton Shelton always looks fast. Always wanted to see a bit more of him than we did.
He obviously did not go onto to have a top level career or anything, but I remember in two games against Man Utd and Man City he really had them on the backfoot with his raw speed. There can be many of players with better levels technique, who would not make an impact on defences like that. Even if they dont have the greatest end product, I always think it is valuable to have a player with that raw pace in your armoury.

Ukaki is very much like Traore but the expectations on them and money involved are very different. Traore was used as a striker in the Premier League, needed to contribute immediately and used quite a bit of cash from very limited funds at the time.

Ukaki is presumably on a lot less money will get to play in his actual position and has time to settle and grow into the team, even if he spends a while with the development squad rather than first team it doesn't matter. He's raw but has clear potential and unlike Traore, time to develop without people writing him off immediately.

We were absolutely robbed that he wasn’t awarded a penalty at old trafford!

Looks a player and hopefully will be in and around the matchday squad as backup for Brooks.

That gives us two nice attacking options for the RW.

On the left we will have Barrie, One and maybe Cannon by the looks of it.

I wonder if we will sign another winger?

he worked damn hard and fell back to make some good tackles, he was rapid and showed some nice touches, really good addition to the bench and occasional game

I was gonna say the same, Littlejohn was rapid but lacked control. He was really good at lobbing the keeper I recall but only from a certain distance! 😂

Warnock signed him too when was at Plymouth I think.

Definitely was my impression too, worked so hard to get his body in the way and make something happen, could have got an assist as well.

I think John White won? Or was that the Saint and Greavsie one?

I think there's something there with him
He has but we need to lower our expectations, at the moment it feels very Coulibaly ‘he’s the next best thing’ when in reality he’s just played a couple of friendlies that he’s done ok in.

He’s quick, I’m not sure he’s ’rapid’ but you need so much more than that in the English game so he needs time to develop

Impressed so far. For someone with such a diminutive frame, he handled him much bigger defender with ease. Quick, makes things happen, direct. Pleasantly surprised.

Same is true of Jeff, but so far, he's not made as much of an impact, beyond a couple of nice defence splitting passes. Having said that, last night, he was one that was relentless in the press. Green shoots of something there for sure.
Wait until you see Nwachukwu.

I don’t know if he’s any good. I’m just saying you’ll use have to wait to see him! Have we lost him? Is he in the hotel at Canary Wharf and won’t leave?

Warnock also signed him back for us in the early 00's!
