Maybe Nwachukwu isn't being considered for this season but for next season, or the one after. He's only 19 years old, so let's not write him off yet. We have players in the academy the same age who aren't ready yet. We bought him to develop him into a potential first team player, so give the club a chance to develop him rather than a knee jerk reaction.
Yeah, think people are expecting these lads to be first teamers, they're way off... in the same way some of our youth players are way off. Ndiaye only started playing at 21/22.

Crazy to think he wasn't born when we were relegated from the Premier League under Warnock!

The following weren't born when the pigs were relegated from the PL...

  • Haaland
  • Saka
  • Saliba
  • Palmer
  • Foden
  • Isak
  • Gakpo
  • Enzo Fernandez
  • Martinelli
  • Szoboszlai
  • Doku
  • Elanga

United were extremely patient with Brooks. I think this season he could really cement a place. But at times he looked inconsistent even in the U21s.

If you see the taken we’ve got to back then and have some faith in the coaches. We can expect them all to break through like Ryan Giggs. Ndiaye has been one of my favourites to emerge. Nowhere near the first team at 18/19.

The proper old school fans don't expect these lads to be first teamers because there not stupid enough to believe that .It might be above the owners who thinking it ! .

My favourite is that Steve Ogrizovic played his last game for Coventry in Wednesdays last game in the top flight. He is now 67

It would be brilliant to see the starting line up in the Pigs’ last PL match and the ages of those players now.

How depressing if I were of the porcine inclination: I'm older than all of them!

It’s not going to replace the academy.

The issue with young british players is that they’ll have been scouted by 40 clubs by the time they’re 16. We’ve done a brilliant job unearthing talent that no one else has spotted in the UK but the completion is fierce and it’s easy to lose out to PL clubs. The idea with this experiment is that not as many clubs are scouting in leagues like Bulgaria and we have a chance of picking up good young players.

No idea if it’ll work but that’s the logic behind it.

I wasn’t trying to say it will replace the academy dc blade.

Also I’m not sure this is classed as an experiment either? More a change of club philosophy

Where does he fit in? We have Sachdev, Seriki both young right backs not to mention Colechin (sp) was making starts for the U21s last year too.

Probably behind Sachdev (injury recovery dependant) and Seriki until we sign a more first team ready player, I remember Selles saying he wants a player to cover both CB & RB. He is 2 and 5 years younger than them respectively but I believe a year or two older than Colechin

You would assume loans will be needed for some of the young right backs Curtis and maybe Waldron that would leave this lad and Colechin to split 21’s minutes. Seriki Inthink now is a first team player so don’t think he’ll account for any 21’s minutes. Sachdev will hopefully be a case of getting him back fit and then assessing in January or maybe next summer what is best for him.

I was only 40

All my pig mates have never had a beer in the Premier League. We were all 15/16 when they were relegated.

I'm 41 now.
Yup

And may i say - you also have the best avatar/s on the forum - please keep up this standard , good work young man

Am I correct in thinking that Yesterday FC has only ever played in one match with VAR? 2023 L1 play off final…and they got all the decisions that day.

Says who?

I’m bored of fans writing off our players before they’ve even kicked a ball at any level.
Just some twitter chatter - I have no knowledge myself, and hope he turns out to be great. However he didn't make the trip to Girona, and have also heard he hasn't been turning out for the u23s.

The question was really about the rules, and whether thats an option or whether that spot is used for the year now.

It is all subject to a contract being signed, not sure whether that is the case or not as we have heard nothing official

I might be thinking of someone else but sure I read/heard he was injured.

Yeah all reports said he was very impressive in the training camps and smashed the beep test
I was immensely good at the bleep test in years 5 til 8.

The fact he's been photographed in blades training kit at the ground doesn't add up with a work permit issue.

He might not just be any good. That can happen.

Anyway the guy this thread is about follows the blades on Instagram

Yeah course we've binned him off before he has played in even a friendly for us after he finished first in the beep test and Danny hall reported he has impressed in training
