Arblaster is a fair way off starting any games and is apparently struggling with his rehab.

That’s been posted a few times along with people saying he’d had it operated on again.

Then Oli himself put a picture of himself kicking a ball on grass at the end of May on Instagram.

Wilder had said not too long ago that Oli should be ready for a full pre season

Heard from lots of different people he had a second operation after a setback.

We’ll have to wait and see

I don’t think he would be posting old pictures of himself kicking balls on the grass. If he’s at that stage now he is progressing well.

True but I doubt this is a priority right now. Feels like a position we might get someone close to the window to provide cover.
If we want to be a team that controls games and has the ball, we risk going into the season without a reliable option in CM who ensures we can do that

I'm not sure Selles is interested in controlling the game tbh. It sounds like he wants us to attack quickly rather than retain the ball.

Not sure if you're over rating him a bit.
He's not that good.
Chances are there are many players abroad who are potentially better options that we've never heard of yet. The down side as always is whether they can adapt to moving to a new country to make an instant impact.

Age is on his side, but I've never felt he has a really high ceiling as some of the barriers aren't ones he'll overcome with age.

I'd not be averse to bringing him in if Peck is leaving, but I definitely think we can get similar / better.

Agreed.

I think he’s an excellent signing for Birmingham coming out of league 1. He’s an upper championship player they’ve added straight away.

I don’t think he’s any better than what we’ve got currently. Obviously we may sell someone but as it stands we’re pretty stacked with excellent championship midfield players.

I also think upper championship is TD’s ceiling due to physical limitations.

It was abundantly clear through our negotiations with Doyle in 2023 that he was unwilling to accept a reduced salary on relegation. I don't think it's a stretch, therefore, to suggest that Birmingham will be offering somewhere in the region of £40k per week in the Championship. That would smash our wage structure.

For the loan, they'll probably just pay Wolves a large fee and Wolves keep paying the wages.
