As you probebly wont know, I am a very curious man and am known to be nosy. But, i am just intrested to when your first away game with the lads; Just say, which game it were, how old you were and how you got their?

For me its,
1) Bradford C 1-4 Sheff U (OCT 1985) - Cant remember who scored? Any one know??
2) 16 Years old(45 NOW :()
3) By the official blades coach

Villa 4-1 to them in cup as a chabby with me Da .
With mates 6-1 to forest pigs gave us a bit of a pasting as well in pond street , were you used to get the national coaches .

I can't fecking remember :(
It would probably have been a local one like Chessy, Barnsley, Rovrum, or summat around '76-'77 or summat

My conversion came in Sept 1966 (I think) when the Blades visited Craven Cottage, it was a win, 1-0 if I recall. In the old First division, the Blades were, as they have been for most of their recent history, a very up and down side. My dad never forgave me for the change of allegiance, but the dye was cast. So from that day onwards I understood why blood was coloured red.

Bristol Rovers think it was the end of the 76/77 season I'm sure we lost but the main event was the pitch battle in a huge carpark after the game, couldn't beleive what i was witnessing, went in a tranny van about
twenty youths crammed in the back, what a first away game that was...

Middlesborough. Old Ayresome Park. Easter Monday 1995. Went on the train with a few of us all about the same age.

You were a pig?

At the end of the 2002/2003 season I dragged a bunch of my mates along to see us lose 2-0 away at Watford. I'd always gone with my dad and cousins (till I was about 14), on my own, or with the ex before then.

For me its,
1) Oldham A 1-1 Alan Cork - May 3rd 1994
2) 16 Years old

I went to this one as well, stood on a very windy terrace, Fjortoft scored for them, Nathan Blake for us

Coventry away Boxing Day '04 aged 15, travelled down on the official blades coach. I think we won 2-1 and they missed a pen? A rather large Coventry fan took a load of abuse off the Blades supporters during the game.

1971 at Old Trafford...thousands locked outside, separated from mi mates I ended up on The Stretford End. We were top of the league on a magnificent run, Ted Hemsley went off injured and then George Best scored THAT goal. (Don't get me started!) We eventually lost 2-0. Grrrr!

We were 14 or 15 and went by SUT.

March 21st 1970. Lost 2-1 at Leicester. Len Glover opened the scoring, Gil Reece equalised just before half time. Rodney Fern got the winner. After the match Woody made all the players in the team coach sign my programme. Top man! Wish I still had the programme

85 ish at Elland Road. The locals were playing their lovely game of throwing stuff at the opposition fans. On the coach there, in the ground and on the way back, we had all sorts of items launched at us. I was 15, and it was both scary and strangely exhilarating.

Think mine was the 1-0 win away at Stoke in 89/90 - Deano scored with a diving header (Alan Ball said it hit him on the shoulder).
I was 14. Can't imagine letting my lad go to Stoke on his own in 5 years time!

It's all lies, the Sambuca Switwasp has never had any friends! ;)

I can if he keeps learning well from those lovely gents that sit around you!!!

Think my first with a big group of mates and not going with family was Forest away c1989/90. Giddy lads from City spent a lot of the game mouthing at proper Forest 'men' through the safety of the dividing fence, telling them they'd better be very careful afterwards.... Unfortunately took a wrong turn after the game and ended up walking straight into said blokes. Lost the game but moved fast enough to end up without a 'clip'!

My first away game was at Cambridge a 0-1 defeat 5/5/1979.
We went down on the SUFC coach and ended up getting relegated to Division 3 that season! :(

1.2.92 Nottingham Forest 2 - 5 Sheffield United

No idea how I got there and back, but went with my brother and his uni mates and drank an awful lot before and after.

Oldham, our first ever game in League 1 when we won 2-0. Before that football was always a family affair.
Saying that Old Trafford in 03 was with my mate and his family so if you can count being 12 a 'Lads away day' then that would be it

Jeff King got to the byline and crossed it for Edwards to head into the net.
Was stood right behind the goal that day - we all went mental

Jeff King! A fucking loon of the first order, but he could play a bit, was focussed in that way straight-jacket wearers tend to be, but gave everything and was very enjoyable while here. Before United he played for the grunts, but he lacked for nothing in the commitment department.

Thanks Ken, forgot about old Jeff....wonder what he's doing now?

Wow - that was an iconic game to go to first off!

SUT eh? Down Pond Street Station early doors - too young to sup ale - never tempted to take home the plastic bottles that look like the were full of Tizer - or lucozade - Back late - trudging up town by Roxy's = past the chippy, along Fitzaan Square, hole in the road and down to castle market to catch the 60 or the 88 back home. Them were't days.

Yep - he did cross the divide and was very well accepted with his wholehearted displays.

The Utter Cunt thought he could do the same - I cringe at the thought of that TWAT in red and white.
AAARRGGGGGGHHHHHHH!
