This so called Fans Advisory board

Wouldn’t it be an idea to actually share who they are on here though? Do they have a website or something to see their work?
They are part of the Club's structure. Their website is part of the Club's website.

The questions seem fair enough to me. And I think fans absolutely are "entitled" to a say in the running of the club they support. Or are we just knuckling our foreheads and leaving it to our betters?

Having said that, you'd want the FAB to be absolutely sure it's asking these sort of questions all the time and not just when there are rumours about the sacking of a manager they like.

Would you want your customers to have a say in running any business that you own ? Recipe for bankruptcy !

'Normal' owners of companies only value fans opinions if it costs them money. McCabe and PA were much more emotionally involved than usual and communicatedaccordingly. I think this lot will be at the other end of the spectrum. Heavily curated, meaningless platitudes will be the order of the day.

Just to say - a Club aren't allowed into the Premier League unless they have that/this in place.

Not being in the Premier League, when you could be, because you don't have a Fan Engagement Plan, that seems like more of a recipe for bankruptcy if I'm honest...

This is all nothing to see here, isn't it? There was a wide and detailed recruitment process to the FAB..The Club used their official channels, websites, social media, to encourage people to apply. Many did. And there is no secret about who is on the FAB. The Clubs official channels regularly give updates about meetings and discussions.

Sure, posters might claim never to have heard of it, but it's hardly the Freemasons.

People posting the likes of "not in my name", seems a bit pompous, and I know a thing or two about pomposity.

My supporters group, the Carrier Bag Firm, made sure we got someone on FAB. They feedback things to us, and take on board stuff we would like to have discussed.

It's not "my thing". But it's just a letter to Bettis
My issue is over timing. I read their minutes from the last meeting with Bettis, which didn't really seem to ask the questions they now want answers to. It's both pointless and stupid to ask these questions now, but doing so while publicly and mentioning the current manager's situation shouts agenda. And, if nothing else, will likely lose them credit with the club.

I mean, that reads a bit like - "make sure the FAB don't rock the boat, and remain yes men, so they can remain yes men."

No, the timing reads like "why are you sacking Chris Wilder, explain yourselves now!"

The club is clearly not going to explain itself until a new manager is in place and Chris' compo is sorted. Obviously. And yet they're publicly demanding it. It's entirely 'look at us' and tinpot. Self-important nonsense.

If, a new manager comes in and in 2 months time they've not aid anything then yes, that's the time.

Yes we do know bloody trouble she is ,wanting coaches to get to the pub later 😂
FAB discussed the issue of coach departure times, and lengths of pub stops, etc - if you've received "those" text messages from the GangMaster, you'll already know your and my camp won the day ⏳

I did ,we did ,now that's democracy,or the workings of a closed committee

They are sticking their oar in and dont represent for all the Blades fans. They cannot understand that the club cannot make comments when a legal issue is being sorted. They are just a few impatient people jumping up & down moaning!

It’s like reading something from S6.

What’s with all the “……….”?
What is the 3rd paragraph apart from some repetitive gobbledegook?
Why are they claiming to be “disrespected” on other fans’ behalf?

As has already been said who exactly are these entitled, self-appointed cronies who have the audacity to lecture on communication?

As you see, FAB members are very approachable, and willing to listen, and take views, and offer feedback.

But, honestly, posters are not going to get that interaction sat on their sofa, wrist deep in Doritos, waiting for the Dolce Gusto coffee machine to dispense, before they dig in on this fucking thread.

As I've said, FAB, not my thing, I've got a different view of how fans become their club, I've just tried to provide some of the factual background.

Peace out....

Looks like bobs letter did the trick 😂
Fucking great.

Having been on WhatsApp all day with the CBF "person on the inside", I am now able to initiate the rumour that Bettis responded privately and immediately to FAB after receiving their letter, and that the owners, the board, and FAB have been working on that statement all day, the owners were particularly keen that FAB sign off the statement today, once they realised the strength of feeling from FAB and the Fanbase.

I will not be taking questions at this time.

I think I know Bob, he was a good friend of Paul who used to play football and cricket with me in my local park. Sadly Paul passed away aged 46 and if I have the right person then Bob gave a tribute at Paul's funeral and I have met him a few times and he is a nice man. Didnt realise Alan Woodward's 2nd wife is in the Advisory board!

Silent Blade

I find "humanising" people, putting a name, putting a face, putting a story makes everything a lot easier. These people, despite all the accusations on here, and despite the fact I'm not a FAB FAN, are just Unitedites doing what they think best.

Stephen has composed a response in a way Bob can understand:

To: Bob Dyson – FAB Chair
Re: Yer Letter

Ey up Bob,

Hope this finds yer well an’ yer brew's still warm.

Now then, we’ve had a butcher’s at yer letter, and while we do appreciate the passion – aye, you lot love the Club like it’s yer own bairn – we just wanted to remind you that runnin' a football club ain't the same as pickin’ a team for five-a-side down’t working men's club.

Let’s be reyt here: we’ve just taken over, we’ve got plans brewin’, and believe it or not, we don’t need a committee of armchair gaffers tellin' us when to blink or fart. We know what we’re doin’. Rome weren’t built in a day – and neither was Bramall Lane.

As for press conferences an’ all that – we’ll talk when there’s summat worth sayin’. Until then, maybe let us get on wi’ the job, and you lot focus on what you do best: singin’ outta tune on match day and moanin' about pie prices.

If Chris Wilder goes or stays, if AI takes over the dugout, or if we sign a right-back from Barnsley who only eats Wotsits – rest assured, we’ll let you know when it’s time. Until then, belt up, grab a pint, and let us do our bloody jobs.

Up the Blades – and up yours (respectfully).

Cheers,
Stephen Bettis

Sheffield United CEO

P.S. Tell Brian from Row D on KOP to stop shoutin' “hoof it” every time we touch the ball. It's 2025, not 1984.
442 that's the way
