proud to be a Blade, how many hours since we last let in a league goal? !!

We looked like we've run out of steam and need a rest. But there is no rest for 6'weeks at least. Good effort tonight but first time I have seen us lose shape since the Crewe game.

To be fair we have had the beard missing tonight though.

Sounded like we were on the back foot for much of the second half, and Carlisle deserved a draw. Still, if you can "win ugly" etc.

Incidentally, this is still to a large part the team that Weir managed so unsuccessfully - Maguire, Collins, Flynn, Doyle, Porter, Murphy etc. Who's to say we wouldn't have at least pulled clear of the drop zone if he hadn't been sacked?

I would - no clean sheets in 13 games under Weir - says it all

United deserved to win, and they did, at a canter. That's not to suggest anyone took things easy tonight, but as games go it seemed a bit flat at times. Maybe that's rising expectations, but Carlisle were ordinary, and for the most part the only question was whether anyone would switch off and allow Carlisle to steal a march on us. Another three points, another clean sheet, and all round another step up the division. As was commented on above, we won ugly, and shows that we are prepared to roll our sleeves up when things aren't quite as fluid as we've come to expect. Davies did a job in Brayford's absence, and looks to be a good, solid professional that won't let anyone down. Oh.....great goal too!

Always prefer these kind of graphics to show the team in question's (in this case the Blades) score first, regardless of whether they're home or away.

1-0, 3-1, 1-0, 2-1, 4-1, 2-1 is easier to read than 1-0, 1-3, 1-0, 1-2 etc.

Anyway, carry on.......

Things could have been so different..... Weir, what did you do??

We wouldn't have Clough without Weir. We'd be stuck with some wally in charge like Chris Wilder. It was all part of Weir's masterplan. Be incredibly crap until Clough gets the sack, then leave so we can get him in. Well done agent Weir, mission accomplished!

Sorry, I can never understand remarks like this. How on earth did Carlisle 'deserve' a draw? They had no 'goals' unjustly ruled out or penalties not given. Our goal was perfectly valid. What entitled them to draw the game?

By the way, people are getting carried away with a jaded second half when many of our lads were understandably feeling the pace. We played some good stuff throughout the first half.

Coady and Scoogs, the LAPD buddies, were excellent as usual. I ❤️ both of them.

I'll rephrase that. They had enough possession and chances to feel that, if they'd made it count, they could have come away with a draw
