More the evidence around all PL clubs and around 70% of Champ clubs using the DoF>Manager structure. Nothing specific about United.

It's not new information though is it? Agreed that the suggestion is that Wilder doesn't like this structure, but that's definitely nothing new.

You mean to the Owners? As in, they knew he wouldn't be up for it when they gave him the new deal so why pull the plug now?

I sacked off the season ticket when he left last time.

IF it true that he's gone, and the rumours are mounting up, I'd love to see someone like Sahin, previously at B Dortmund or Blessin from St Pauli. Blessin has done really well to keep them in 1 Bundesliga, has a great style of attacking football and could, possibly, bring Jackson Ervine, his captain along too. If you want a good example of a club that is really connected to its fan base and the city of Hamburg. I think Blessin was named as a possibility under our previous ownership too.

I may also get my season ticket back on.

Interesting weekend ahead folks
I'm sure I heard Blessin got as far as accepting the job before it emerged that he didn't qualify to manage in the UK under the then-new post-Brexit rules

So in January he gets a contract from our new owners till 2028.
With a complete team rebuild consisting of recent academy boys and loans,
he gets us an unbelievable points total of 92 points.
We lose the play offs to a chalked off goal.
And RUMOURS spring up he's been sacked.
Personally I'd be very surprised if this happens. I think it's highly unlikely at this moment.
The question is could someone have done better with the budget maybe yes ?
92 points a 100 plus total was the very and expected ( by us on here) achievable target with 3 weeks to go.
We lost the play off final because we sat in for the whole second half due to our management of the game ...again. The Lane will be like a morgue next season if we deploy the same turgid slow tactics
Possible that the owners feel that rather than taking that chance and having to get a new man in in November then now is the best time to start a new project

A lad I know came in the pub last night who had been golfing at Abbeydale, he knows loads of other members and he showed me a text message from two ex united players saying Wilder has had to cancel because of an emergency board meeting , it said he was not happy about the recent signing because he was not involved.
Heard this myself off bro in law who’s a member at AGC.

Looks like Wilder is going today.

Heard a rumour that ex Hull manager Ruben Selles could be on his way

Chris Wilder’s future as Sheffield United manager is in doubt after the club’s failure to seal a return to the Premier League.

Wilder could be sacked later on Thursday by United’s new owners, just under three weeks since the Championship play-off final defeat by Sunderland at Wembley.

The 57-year-old’s team were in contention for promotion for the majority of last season, despite a two-point deduction, but he is expected to pay the price after falling short in the promotion bid. Senior officials are believed to be preparing for a recruitment meeting on Thursday.

It will be the second time Wilder has been sacked by his boyhood club, following his previous dismissal in March 2021. He returned to the club in December 2023 and signed a new contract last season which would have run to 2028.

United’s new owners, American-based consortium COH Sports, are keen to make a new appointment before pre-season. The consortium, led by businessmen Steven Rosen and Helmy Eltoukhy, completed their takeover at Bramall Lane in December last year, when the team were top of the Championship.

After the defeat by Sunderland last month, Wilder said: “We’ve had the taste of Premier League, we know what a great experience it is and the experience that they’ll have next season.

“It’s going to take quite a while to get over this and we’re going to have to suffer and go through the pain.”

United are the latest Championship club to start searching for a new manager, joining Bristol City, Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers.

My non-uk bias data backed gemini ai picked Kjetil Knutsen (Bodø/Glimt) and Franck Haise (OGC Nice) - not bad picks, maybe there's something in all these ai signings

Chose him as a manager on my FIFA career mode to get FC Saarbrücken back to the Bundesliga. I thought he had done really well this season with Bodø/Glimt.

I hope people using AI realise it's also ingesting every bullshit article spread by these copy-cat sites.
