What you reckon? We'll be in the top 4 budget wise and unless they get a big takeover ridiculously quick they should be fighting for their life down there.

Has there ever been a gap this big for a league derby?

We don't do hammerings under Wilder in either spell.

More than 3 goals from us in a game under him is a rarity.

To the OP

We've had plenty of opportunities to "hammer" them down the years, off memory

02/03 - they were fucking dire that season went down yet we somehow lost at theirs and scraped a win at home

08/09 3 up at HT and that wanker Blackwell in charge nearly let them back in

17/18 and 18/19 both home games, 2 shit pig sides and we failed to score

So regardless of what happens there no we won't hammer them.

We won’t hammer them. This season we were by far a better team than them and set out in both games just to scrape a 1 nil.

The 4-2 win was because they thought they’d hammer us and we just punished them and their arrogance, they’ll never play expansively against us again and we’ll just reciprocate.

In the 1991-92 season, the pigs finished 3rd and 18pts above us.
We did the double over them. We went into the first game in November with just 2 wins under our belt.

Never underestimate a wounded animal, especially in a one off fight (game).

Its NO from me - hopefully they will be in L1 as a punishment so it wont apply.
Id rather them stay in the Championship and suffer. Just being relegated is too quick and painless, plus even their shitty, aging, unpaid squad might do ok in League 1.

To answer the OP, yes absolutely, we'll destroy them home and away 😅
Who bloody knows, we don't even know what our squad will look like then.

02/03??? You mean the 3-1 when we absolutely battered them throughout?? That game?

I'd like them to be bottom of the league by about 30 points by the time we play them with a goal difference of -67 and celebrate a 2-0 loss in front their massive following in the bramall lane lower tier, throwing shirts into the crowd, hoding bazza banter aloft etc. Completing their degradation to the most tin pot, embarrassing outfit to ever play the game.

Has there ever been a double double? That would do for me.

Mi ideal would be Owls outplay and make Blades look gash.
Unfortunately for the fowls a modern day William Punton is playing for the Blades.
89th minute.

Down to scores on the doors mate, and we don’t know the squads either, it’s a bit previous..

The thing is 'derby' games are always a leveller , but.......

By starting this thread you have given them their first moral victory of the season
Now whatever the score they will claim we were all predicting a battering
So well done for that

In the unlikely event that Sausage is still with them when next we meet, the chant needs to be

Oliver Arblaster, here to stay
Oliver Arblaster, on our way
And Rohl would rather be anywhere else than here today

After what just happened to us at Wembley, do you honestly think Father Christmas is ever going to come for us?

The pigs will get away with it like they always do.

We’ll finish 3rd and lose in the play off final.
Jack Robinson will still play a minimum of 20 games despite being utter 5hite.

It’s Sheffield United, don’t expect fuck all

Derby matches are simply not like this.

If they were downtrodden at the point we play them it would be like a lower league team playing one higher up in a Cup tie.

Yes, you occasionally get a team thrashing a lower league one, but realistically it would be made into a turgid, battle of a game. It’s just how these games are.

Our best chance was when we went 3-0 up and Jamie Ward scored. Even then they got it back to 3-2 in the second half.

We did not "scrape" a home win in 02/03. We won that game easily. Regardless of going one down, the gulf in class was there all game for all to see. Not always a given on Sheffield derby day, but we were clearly better than them on that evening. They were the ones that scraped a 1-3 defeat.
