We're a bunch of wankers as a fan base aren't we? Fat, burger, insert any food related insult you prefer. He's a joy to watch mostly although not beyond criticism. We did the same with Ndiaye and MGW. Entertainers clearly aren't for everyone. MGW wasn't even our player but was a joy to watch and always gave 100%, still got dogs abuse. It's really strange behaviour.
Dont remember ndiaye or Mgw getting dogs abuse.

If I was Gus, I'd ahead abroad.

He has nothing left to prove in this division and can pick up a bigger pay cheque in a less physically demanding league that will suit his style.
Holland, Germany or Italy.

If we can get £20m for him, I don't think we should stand in his way.

A great player, full of entertainment, but I always felt our side looked a little imbalanced with him in that wide position.
You can't replace Gus like-for-like in this division but utilise the funds wisely and we may look a better team.

Anel & Souza will likely follow him out the door.
Souza is the one I really hope we can keep.
Thing is, we aren't getting 20m.plus if he heads abroad.

Love Hamer, not just as a player but a personality, plays with a smile but can dish it out (too often!)

But, how would we replace MGW?
Ndaiye?
Mcatee?

A new hero will step up if he goes

Personally don’t think he has the athleticism for Prem, and he isn’t going to improve at 27yr old

Stuck around and become a ledge Gus
In the latest videos with O'Hare and Gus, quick fire questions they get asked who is the better trainer of the two, and they both quickly answer Cal. Hamer alludes to just wanting to turn up and do his magic.

I don't think he is that sort to force a move anyway.

But he didn't force a move to the lane from Coventry. But when we bid and then had it accepted he would then of course have informed Coventry he wished to move.
(And there will have been chatter going on between the club and his agent behind the scenes)

I suspect he will leave. BUT he has 2 years left on his deal. So a club would need to meet our valuation. If he had 1 year left then it's a different matter, we seem to go for the cash in option if they won't agree a new deal.

At a minimum that valuation is £20m a very bare minimum £18m with add ons. Realistically for me he is £25m, perhaps including add ons that are realistic that they would come to pass.

Agreed given his age now, on a 4 year deal puts him in his early 30s so he doesn’t have that much left on the transfer market realistically

That's the second version isn't it?
"It's disgusting what Brewster earns,
I'll be back when more consistent entertainment returns,
It's gonna be United all the way...."

😂
With Brewster it will be disappointing if it isn’t one year with an option to extend for a year. Can’t have him tie us into another long contract

Not whilst he was here though.
And? My point is that we're cunts as a fan base. Why do it. I was near the corner flag at Forest in the 2-1 loss after he left. Our fans abuse towards him was pathetic. It's wrong and I'm amazed you can try and defend it.

A luxury Everton could afford because their tactics wouldn’t have to revolve around Hamer pulling something out of his arse like ours do.

The likelihood is he’d go there, play in his real position and be an asset to them. See also Sander Berge at Fulham.

We need this kind of player to do everything, the likes of Everton and Fulham have good players around them and can utilise their strengths and use others to counteract their weaknesses. We don’t have that luxury.
Neither does any team residing in the Championship.

If for some reason he doesn't leave now, we should just keep him until the end of his contract. Because next summer the fee would barely be worth it

I'm not defending anything.

I said I didn't see or hear any abuse whilst he played for us.

You said we did.

One of the jobs of a manager/coach is to develop and improve players. Which player improved over the course of last season?

I know some people will say Peck but I'd have to disgaree. He was an enthusiastic, inconsistent, positionally naive player when he broke into the team in Arblaster's absence, and he ended the season the same.

I don't want him to go. I think he's class and I think with a couple of additional signings he gets even better.

However, at this stage, I wouldn't begrudge him a move to a top flight side somewhere.

Question is, fee and also when the deal is done. I would rather we took a couple of million less (say £17mil instead of £20mil) to get it done early, get us the cash to use and sort the squad out. If he disappears off in August, that's when things get sticky.
