Wilder skulking off at the end of the game

The owners may well back him, but if they let him spend any money on "big signings" then they can **** off. We need a director of football and a change in direction. Wilder cannot be trusted with a chequebook anymore.

Cooper - no complaints
Burrows - no complaints
McCallum - bang average limited player
Shackleton - poor signing
Gilchrist - played out of positional for half a season and became the weak link as a result
Holding - superior player to Robinson, but hey, Jack's my favourite. What a lad!
Rak-Sayki - inconsistent over rated crap player
Clarke - pointless signing
Souttar - fantastic player
Campbell - fantastic player.... but only for 60 minutes, all season..... when he's not injured
BBD - unfit, sluggish and woeful
Moore - only plays well with a partner, played up top alone for large parts
Cannon - expensive flop (see Moore)
Choudhury - poor in midfield, make shift right back where he excelled

Once again the poor signings far outweighed the good ones.

He showed no leadership at the end or seemingly in the hour or two afterwards.

As for no negativity on social media, it's everywhere without having to look for it. From Blades and then supporters of umpteen clubs taking the piss.

He was probably absolutely shattered like most of us where at the final whistle. I understand people saying he should front up straight away as he is the manager, but he's also a huge Blades fan first and foremost and would be feeling gutted. I just wanted to be left alone after the final whistle for at least a couple of hours so I think it's too easy to have a go at him for that. He's still just a man who has his own feelings and disappointments and probably feels he has let people down.

As for other clubs fans, personally I couldn't give a fek what they think. Any trying to take the piss are immaterial. Would a Wendy season ticket holder give too much thought about what I thought if boot was on other foot? Probably not, even if i was laughing my tits off. That's football rivalry and what makes it all good fun. We will be back laughing at other teams again next season. Wednesday, probably sooner.

He brought Seriki on right at the end of the match.
He was wide on the touch line with no one in front of him, Choudhury had the ball in our half.
Seriki was screaming for the ball yet it was passed backwards.

And that my friends is why he should go.

We sat too deep,
We invited them on
We played into their hands
We had previously played through midfields when Moore was unfit, today our only plan was lump ball to his head.
Instinct of too many players is safety first, pass it back
Get in front and sit in, in the hope they do not score.
The amount of attacks that end up with the ball at coopers feet is staggering..

Blade or not he can go for me..

Wilder still the man for me, but only if (a big if) he changes his ideology. Part of my believes he’s played this style because he was doing a big re-build job and felt like this was the best way to play with who he had at is disposal. The big issue is we are now likely to lose our biggest goal contributor and biggest defensive asset. And for me, he’s going to have to change the style.
Other than Anel, Hamer, Souza and Adam Davies he brought in all of the other players "at his disposal." Coincidentally three of the players he didn't bring in are arguably our most important.

Absolutely. He said on the Sky interview that he still hadn't seen the players 90 minutes after the game. Where was he, because he wasn't on the pitch. I wonder what the players thought about that? I know what I'd think if I'd had a massive disappointment in my work and the manager went AWOL, especially if he'd had a big hand in that disappointment occuring.

Leadership really isn't going on a radio show 18 hours after the event to say how disappointed you are, but the owners are still backing me.

He was on the Talksport show with Tony Cascarono and Natalie Sawyer at 9.35am.

He sounded really down, said last night was very difficult for him, his family and the players.
He said they stayed at the Hilton last night and he can still see the Wembley Arches from where he’s standing, said he bumped into Nathan Jones (the Charlton Athletic manager), last night and told him it’s place for losers, so wishes them the best of luck for their game today against Leyton Orient.

Wilder thanked the owners for their kind words of support last night and said he’s confident they are very much committed and here for the long haul.
He also said he’s received a text last night from his friend Paul Heation who has invited him to his concert today at Bramall Labe, so he may go there.

Said he needs a little break away from football with the family, he then thanked his family and friends (Unitedites) for their support. Said he’ll return with batteries refreshed and up for the fight and mentioned all the positives at the club, regards the stature of the club and the young players coming through. Wilder also said he understood the negativity he’s receiving on social media,

When the interview finished Cas and Natalie praised Wilder for showing leadership by showing his face the morning after a defeat.
They said they haven’t seen any negativity towards him on social media, both agreed that very few managers would face the media when they’re in pain.
They also read out a text from a Liverpool fan praising Wilder for giving an interview so soon after a bad defeat.

To be honest…it’s true….it does show leadership to face the music so quickly after a massive disappointment.

Sounds like he gets next season.

I honestly think had Soutter not got injured the 2 two would have been achievable. Losing Soutter was as impactful as losing JOC. the balance of the team was affected and it just didn't seem as strong once he was injured. also Right back was a weird one 4 players only one of them Hamza could last 90 mins and he was the non right back out of the 4. We need to sort the defence out 2 players each position minimum and defenders who are not made of biscuits.

He had an entire transfer window sow to replace him and we went into the business end of the season with anel and robbo who are an abysmal partnership
Weak physically and in the air and slow on the deck
First time they played a ball down robbos side they scored unchallenged

And yet last summer Wilder made it clear that the pre-season training would be the toughest the players hade ever faced in order to get them in the correct condition.

In addition he said that they would be looking at the issue of too many injuries (an unfair dig at Hecky in my opinion).

As it turns out injuries and fitness of players to play for 90 minutes has been an issue all season.

If Campbell was only going to play his usual 65 minutes yesterday then it was crucial that we took as many of the chances created as possible while he was on the pitch.

Ignoring the VAR 1-0 at half time wasn't good enough.

The substitutions have been criticised but our approach to the whole of the second half was the key factor.

I went yesterday with a real positive view that this was our year believing that if the right United team turned up we wouldn't have any problems.

The right United team turned up in the first half but even though they were the same players it was a completely different team in that second half.

That's what I just don't understand.
The ignoring var line In the above nails it for me, for 70 mins Sunderland were toothless there for the taking we should have gone in at least 2-0 up but we just played too conservatively. I'd love us to really put teams to bed when on top. Very rare this season we have done that

If it's true that he didn't see the players until 90 minutes after then he does need to go. What message and inspiration does that send to the players. What a coward. Happy to accept the plaudits and attention when we're winning. Sulks and blames everyone else when it goes wrong like he did when he turned on the fans after the Oxford game. If this is true then get him out of this club. We don't need this mardy, sulking narcissist in charge.

There's some right idiots on here just now.
What's Wilder's win rate and average PPG manging us?
Look at the sate we were in after last season.
Look what's happened at Luton.
Go find better and let us all know who takes over, and what their stats are over the last 4 or 5 years.
Wilder has his faults but it can get a whole lot worse than this.

Don't hold your breath. Won't happen. Nor should it.

Why...this is possibly the most talented squad I've ever seen at united..

Hanging on to 1.0 all season, we got worked out at Oxford, Plymouth, and Millwall...

thier team talk..

"They'll go one up and sit back, so one goal back and the fans will go quiet"

"Games ours if you get another"

Aside from Cooper, Burrows, Campbell and O’Hare… Yeah. With nothing but pork scratchings

A lot saying Wilder didn’t come back on pitch but just left his players to their own without showing leadership. Most of us left didn’t want to watch their celebrations

It's very difficult for Wilder is it? Because he's a Blade? A Blade being paid millions? A Blade who doesn't have to go into work next week and face Wednesday fans?

All about him isn't it? Always.
Fucking toughen up then and give them some back. People crying because he didn't acknowledge the fans. I don't blame him knowing all the stick he's been getting off so called fans all season. I like him and would like to see him given another crack next season but am happy for others to have another opinion but not based on jealousy of his salary and getting stick off pigs at work. Grow up.

I thought it was odd that there was no sign of CW at the end. Hamer seemed to spend a lot of time applauding the fans ( the ones that were left that is) - could have taken it that he was saying 'goodbye' - hope not
I thought that about Brown after the Wolves game but we still had another season of him.

Ok so it’s like this ( in my opinion) if you get to watch a fair bit of football either there or on tv there are ways of playing . Leeds manager attack minded poor defensively. Burnley manager good defensively boring going forward . There ain’t allot of Pep replacements knocking about at this level . I’ve noticed a shift from possession football to a more direct faster pace game plan. See it more in European leagues . We haven’t changed have we . Palace / Tottenham all play on the front foot along with bin dippers . Can we employ a coach who can inspire not be a fan . And let’s be honest our support sometimes. We don’t put a show on do we like Bristol did for home leg . Get bums on seats sell the club as an exciting place to go and support . Promote our important place as a club in the history of football . Sell the fucking dream come on !

It’s an interesting point re: our support. We’re so raw and traditional that anything we try would be belittled or sneered at from large sections who don’t want to see any change. We couldn’t do a tifo (like em or hate em) for example.

We should all be getting behind the lad who’s trying to create change in the atmosphere, if you’re under 35 you should be all over it and creating a bit of a revolution in that regard.

Haha yeh, most fans didn’t acknowledge him or the team and sloped off instead.

Wilder has to realise he's got exactly what he deserves

And if he intends to change nothing, he'll get exactly what he deserves again next season, but probably without the privilege of lasting until the end of it

I love the bloke, he's a blade through and through but I think it's time to move on for everyone before things get too toxic, fanbase is too divided now for things to work imo.

That and his signings have been poor , but maybe we should have had someone doing the buying aspect etc.

Hey ho.

Roll on smashing the oinkers next season and going for it again.
