Off to this, missus surprised me for my 50th with tickets to 21 pilots in Brum, and then this at the lane, looking forward to May, promotion and 2 gigs

Apologies beforehand, as I haven't read the rest of the thread, but I saw Paul Heaton stood chatting at the bottom of Cemetery Road / Boston Street, across from the Shell petrol garage, while walking home after the Steel City Derby 1-0 'win'. Had to quickly say, " Looking forward to watching you here next year!". Thought I had bought tickets, but can't find any email of record. Must've been one of those tipsy evenings, where my attention span wandered off on a tangent, which wont have been the first time! Alternatively, I may have not had the dosh in my account when it came to pay, which, also, wont have been the first time.
On the waiting list now though. Bound to get hold of a couple at some point. I love Shed Seven also, so will be a cracking evening.

This has the potential to be incredible if we do the business the day before. I’m not optimistic (for very obvious reasons), but it would make for an immense weekend.

Hi all. I have a spare ticket for this now as my wife can’t go. Face value £45. DM me if interested. Cheers.

They've renamed it "Paul's Promotion Party"
Get a ticket, let's go down and celebrate 🙏

If you're not sorted apparently there's more tickets on sale this Friday morning

Most gigs you want the singer or band to play all the 'hits'. I'm the opposite for this one. Although there are some great tunes among them, I'd be happy if he ignored all the singles from the Housemartens and Beautiful South era and concentrated on later / lesser-known tracks. Some of his solo stuff (pre-Jaqui Abbott) is fantastic - Acid Country is a brilliant album. About 90% of his music with Jaqui is wonderful, and there are five or six great tunes on the new album.

I'll make an exception for 'Happy Hour'. If the result goes our way on Saturday he can kick off with that one.

Last time he did all the hits when I saw him at the arena. Let's be fair though that's why most people go to these type of events and that's what he'll likely do again.

I'm not a huge fan of his solo stuff (it's fine but not much more than that) and I think a lot of folk would be disappointed if he didn't belt out the big ones, especially with it being at the Lane.

“Delayed start”, followed by an extended version of “Faulty microphone”, a cover version of S & G's "The Sound of Silence", with “Power Cut” bringing the set to an end, would be my preferred choice. 😉

22.30 is a bit early for a 'curfew' isn't it? Football games at the Lane have finished later than that.
