I think it's going to depend if Sunderland play 4-5-1 or 4-4-2.

If they go 4-4-2 they will rely on their front 2 breaking away and running at us, which didn't really work for them last night. To add to that Roberts is gash and Le Fe doesn't offer them width on the left.

We could match up 442 and probably overpower them.

If they go 4-5-1 they'll have a lot of width and will try to press us high and pin us in where we will have to rely on being a bit more direct and try to counter.

I think they'll set up with the 5 in midfield
Roberts has played very average for SAFC this season - scoring just 2 goals. It would be typical for you lads if he came good at Wembley just once.

They seem to think choudary hasn't got a chance against le fee

It’s got him bending one in from 30 yards written all over it

No to Brewster yes to COH, Moore needs to be in to keep Ballard busy then let COH loose and cause Mayhem

First goal will be massive so play COH from the start and get that early goal, if they score first and we’re chasing then it’s going to be sooooo tough.. if we score first we’re likely to open them up and it could be a great score

Sunderland will use their front two in exactly the same way as this game, how do you combat two players who have pace and power like Isidor and Mayenda.

Oxford, Blackburn, Bristol City, Swansea and Norwich basically nullified them. You'd hope those games are being studied for clues.

Cooper
Choudhury - Anel - Holding - Burrows
Souza - Peck
JRS - Hamer - O'Hare
Campbell

I wouldn't fall into the trap of playing Moore for this one. If there's one thing the semi showed, Sunderland can head balls out the box all week.
There aren’t many 6’5” strikers about though.

Dan Ballard 1.87m
O’Nien 1.74m
Hume 1.80
Circin 1.82
Bellingham 1.91
Le Fée 1.74
Neil 1.85m
Roberts 1.67m
Isidor 1.86
Mayenda 1.80m

United:
Moore 1.96
Ahmedhodzic 1.90
Souza 1.87

Come to Papa!

Defend deeper so they have nothing to run onto and tuck your fullbacks inside when defending to limit the space.

You can afford to go long because Moore has 9 inches in height on the tallest of the defenders.

Who we having?

Coops
Choudhary Anel Robbo Burrows
Souza Peck Hamer
Ohare
Moore Campbell

Attack their left with Burrows, Ohare and Hamer, create overloads and ping crosses in for Moore constantly. Robbo on long throws. Pepper their box constantly.

Don’t think we have to go long to Moore like we did against Bristol City, think we play down the sides as much as possible but using the hold up play of Ohare and Campbell to enable our full backs and Hamer forward to generate crosses with Moore concentrating on getting himself in the box rather than holding up play.

Brooks
JRS
BBD
Davies

All in line to make an appearance.
He isn’t going to change the formation that dramatically. We’ve not played that way all season.

That system leaves us a bit exposed out wide too, Choudhury doesn’t get forward so there’s no width. Bristol played their full backs high in the second game so You’d just see Campbell tracking back constantly and not in his best position.
