No Excuses Not to GO to Wembley

Would be interesting to know how many people we have already registered with min. 200 points. If its, let's say, 50,000 and there is only a limited window of just over a week to sell them in, then maybe those should take priority on Aunty Flo?
Ticket sales will likely show Aunty Flo should have been able to get a ticket.
Mate who travels good distance to a handful of games a season with his daughter had hoped to take his mrs and son to Wembley. Unlikely now.

Someone else worked it out about same. Even if drive down, found somewhere to park, maybe tube to get there will work out similiar. Money is tight at the moment cant really afford it with holiday straight after.

End of the day, you know your personal circumstances and no judgment from me if you don’t go for whatever reason.

I’m just seeing some of the numbers quoted on this forum and it seems a bit misleading. It can be done for cheaper, especially if you have a car full.

It’s doesn’t need to be top category tickets, trains, hotels and a gut full of ale to watch United at Wembley.

I will go again. We went to Wembley against Man City knowing we would probably lose.
I don't understand any argument about previous play-off finals as a reason to not go this time.
The players have done a great job this season, I will give them my support and I hope as many Blades as possible feel the same.
I also hope the club make general sale available for supporters to enable extended family members to get tickets. I do understand it is a financial commitment that is not for everyone.

We don't need an excuse not to go or your advice about it either.

Many of us love the club but might have fallen out of love with the game, badge thumping, narcissism, some of our characters, boozy and drugged up ar**holes ruining previous Wembley events, ridiculous prices and the pathetic bigger Blade mentality.

Do us all a favour and knock it off? If you're going, enjoy it and hope we win. If you're not, and for whatever reason, I'm sorry you have to put up with this nonsense.

Some of us took the red and white tinted glasses off years ago. I'll give you some advice. The club doesn't and will never love you or see you in the same way you see it. You're 'a punter' apparently.

Love football. Love the club but not in love with it.

And I'm far from alone in that.

Going in as favourites, played so we’ll in the semis, and how many chances will we ever get to go into a final as favourites to see us win 100 years after our last.

The potential outweighs the negatives of losing… can you image the extacy of being there and finally watching us win a champ flay off final!

It’s happening
Every football fan should go to Wembley once in there lifetime even if it's not there team playing.

I’m still seeing a shrink after the Huddersfield final.

It was a right laugh that game. The Poodles giving us a 3 penalty head start and we still feck it up.

The real highlight of the day was the train ride home. Being a Brighouse based Blade the Grand Central train home was full of Poodles celebrating - as well they should.

I vowed never again.

I’ll see you there.
I got called out for not staying to clap the players that day!

As soon as I saw the trajectory of Simmo's penalty we were on our way. 2.5 hours in blistering heat and memories of the huge queues at Wembley station after Burnley were enough for that decision.

Ok so they don’t go, big whoop.

I’m all for us selling out but I couldn’t give two hoots if Uncle Bob and Aunty Violet can’t go to their first game for 15 years because nobody was able to buy a ticket for them.
I disagree tbh, half the fun of Wembley is it's a big day out for people who never usually go or lapsed fans, some of whom will then become more active supporters. It's not like the diehard rabid nevermissamatch types are going to miss out from having tourists along, there's plenty enough to go around.

Yeah I get that, but I don’t get the slagging off of the club for having the temerity to impose the smallest of loyalty requirements - ie. Has been to a game in the past 5 years.

Maybe but I`m not seeing anyone offer a calculation of how much cheaper they reckon it would be. Mine was based on what others have said £67 ticket with £75 travel cost coach x 4 is about £600 and that doesnt include food drink and anything else that might crop up. The ticket price is what I am estimating will be available Friday as pretty sure all the cheaper seats will be gone. Money can be tight whether it costs you £300 or £600. Its not like paying £37 for a BL ticket.

They can not make everyone happy so just ignore the moaners. Its an impossible task. Half of wembley's middle tier is made up of Club Wembley membership who are already selling their seats for £1500+ let them moan at those people for a change.

Yep. Basically if you kid/spouse has been to two or more home games at any point in their lives, they will have 200 or more loyalty points (don't know what they are these days, but was 150 points per game a couple of seasons ago when I started taking my lad)

At 48 years old, you should really do better and think about what and how you post. I am going, but then again I only have to pay for myself these days. Kids are grown up and pay their own way (sometimes grrrr), but there are many, many people that cannot afford the daft expenses for a day like this.

You probably didn't intend to offend anyone and was excited at the time of posting, but next time.....

Money is tight at the moment cant really afford it with holiday straight after. Not able to buy tickets till Friday so chances are all the cheap seats will be gone. Its what people have said no one should be guilt tripped for not attending. Everyone supports the Blades in there own way whether its sat at home watching the telly or cheering them on in the stands.
One way is to park at Luton airport parkway - Junction 10 on the M1 it is about £30 for the day in parking (possibly might get it cheaper if prebook with a discount code found somewhere) train to Wembley return from there is mixed prices but a lot of options, under £100 for 4 people including parking (all depending on which Wembley stop you go for) trains to Kings Cross or West Hamstead are the least number trains (2) you can go via St Albans but thats 3 trains

Whoever can or can't I hope we sell out
This team deserve it
I was speaking to someone last night who isnt going based on past disappointments
I totally get that, but imagine the feeling if we DID do it, Hillsborough x 10
The thought of 30,000 singing Star man would be something very special
Hope the 50/50 brigade decide to go
UTB

I was not entirely comfortable until the 2nd goal went in last night. That’s because at the weekend I booked accommodation for that weekend. That wasn’t done out of Piggy style arrogance or entitlement, rather I’d spent the weekend watching accommodation prices spiralling upwards so decided to take a punt. Very glad I did now, once the tickets are procured tomorrow I can relax & look forward to it.
I've paid about £170 for Friday and Saturday night at the Travelodge in Hounslow. Anything nearer is just too expensive. Don't have an issue getting to Wembley on the Saturday, but I am apprehensive about getting back to Hounslow later Saturday evening.

We won't sell 30k
The organisation levels of both our club and our dopey fans will see to that

How dare you! Can you tell me how we apply for tickets and just point me in the general direction of this London place while you're at it?

I assume this is an airport hotel, you'll be fine. I'm doing similar (although also Sunday for much the same price should Stockport win the second leg and I can then do both games). You can get to Heathrow pretty much 24/7, once you've done that connection to any hotel is fine from there

Same situation - I have my brother & his wife & kids who are all Blades from afar living in Somerset - who’d love to go - but with no sales history - no chance. I don’t have an answer & I don’t know how other clubs do it ….but u can’t help feeling we are making life really difficult for our ‘casual’ fanbase. I get why season ticket holders & members are important… but I bet that if we had more flexibility we’d easily shift 35000 tickets.

Anyone know what other clubs do to get around this? I really hope that our new owners look at this for next season. Why not invite members or season ticket holders to be able to register ‘associated members’ at the start of each season - so they could potentially become eligible for tickets but effectively making the season existing season ticket Holder responsible? I don’t know - just trying to think of a way to improve the way we sell tickets in the future.
Club should allow ST holders to nominate upto 3 people -provide their details and that their alligience is with the club - then get registered if those tickets end up in a coke sniffing dick heads hands etc the ST holder will lose the option to nominate

...boozy and drugged up ar**holes.....
One of these lovely gentlemen was near us at the Hull game. He wanted to stand up and was offering to fight anyone who asked him to sit down as they couldn't see. He also offered to fight the stewards who told him to sit down, and justified it because he was a big Blade and everyone should stand up all the time otherwise they weren't "proper Blades". He was absolutely hammered, looked like he'd been on a right old session before the game.

Tonight we'll find out who we'll be playing. We'll then have 9 days to sell the tickets, the ticket office will close on Sunday and probably decide to have a day off in the week as well.
The first day will be to season ticket holders and those with 60,000 + loyalty points
The next day 50,000+ loyalty points holders can buy
The next day 40,000+ loyalty points holders can buy
The next day 30,000+ loyalty points holders can buy
The next day 20,000+ loyalty points holders can buy

At this point about 18,000 tickets will have been sold because half of the people in the above categories will be waiting for friends and family in the lower categories to be able to buy, then over the next two days there'll be a mad rush bringing the total up to about 28,000 (our average attendance) and the only people with a decent number of loyalty points.

Then it will be two days of general sale for all those people who don't exist as far as United are concerned, and they can buy one each and they can go on their own to watch a football team 200 miles away that they don't normally go to watch anyway.

Simple straight forward way of doing this is: Anyone with 100 loyalty points for attending as little as one match in their entire lives can buy tomorrow morning. We are not Man Utd, we don't need to section people off into categories because there are more tickets available than our average attendance.

Drive down to the Pinner area look on just park ( link below should take you to availability for 24 May from 1.30 pm to stay until 10.00pm ) train direct to wembley from Pinner station and a nice area

It's close to, but not one of the two Travelodge airport hotels. It's actually in Hounslow. (which I'm led to believe is one of the nicer parts of London?). There is an underground route nearby - Hounslow West, East and Central on the Piccadilly line.
Maybe I've heard "Down in the tube station at midnight" too many times :D

I am told its not being done like that this time open to all ST from tomorrow regardless of points -I hope this is so, and we get a good window for General Sales- but what I am told and what the club actually do do not most of the time marry out

Wouldn't trust many areas of London after dark to be fair. But you aren't far away from Richmond Upon Thames and Twickenham so all pinkies and lager tops. Although if you get the 90 bus from Heathrow to Twickenham Green you do go past Feltham Young offenders

That would be great if they did it this way, give everyone with even a miniscule amount of loyalty points the chance to all get in quickly and buy the tickets all sat next to the people they want to sit next to and travel with.

I sometimes think the club don't get it, if someone wants to book a coach or minibus, or hotel room, or time off work, or anything else, they have to wait until people further down the loyalty points line are able to buy.

The current method holds up the entire chain of events that have to take place for fans.

I'm all for loyalty points if there was only 20,000 tickets, but there can be as many as 40,000, so the club should just sell them starting off at the lowest entry point rather than the highest

For the cost ive just booked a parking place on someones drive for £21 on harrow rd easy to get in and out , a tank of petrol so travel can be done fairly cheaply, i dont drink so that helps , the thing that gets me is me and lad can get tickets straight away but lads daughter would like to go, shes never been to a game and would like to experience a big game. So we either wait for tickets or she doesnt go, there will be loads left over in my opinion the tickets should be season ticket holder / member plus one additional ticket, this way we would sell more tickets
