Tyrese Campbell

Not really, as fans it’s important that our club uses the limited resources they have wisely. Granted we’re not paying for it, but we don’t want to see money spunked up the wall on poor signings that ultimately leads to hardship and a worse league ranking than if it was spent wisely.
It seems that only works when players aren’t free. Everyone else is either a bargain if they’re good and a waste of money when they have a bad game

First choice and will be worth £10m come the end of the season if he keeps banging them in!
Unfortunately it only balances out the 10m we have spent on Cannon who has done nothing yet to suggest why he is worth it. Still early I know, but Diaz has 3 already and wins the ball, holds it up. Cannon does Jack, even Brewster looks better. Heard wilder saying he is not fully fit, so perhaps I should calm down.

Campbell is the best striker we have had since Mosset's golden coule of months.

Only in the eyes of idiots. There have been some wastes of money over the years but there have also been some good bits of business.

Mousset and McBurnie have been mentioned, both paid their fees back and more with goals in the PL keeping us up and McBurnie scored 15 in the promotion season. Berge got us promoted with some good performances but we needed him to be a Swiss (or Norwegian) Army knife and he wasn’t that player, he’s now doing a good job in his real position for Fulham.

Cannon is only 22 and has barely played with us. But in any case, you can appreciate Tyrese Campbell without trying to balance it out by bemoaning something else. You can pretty easily strip joy out of anything by doing that.

While we can manage that Campbell can only do say 60 minutes in a match, how did we ever get to a stage where professional footballers/athletes cannot compete 90 minutes regularly. This is not just at the Lane either.

Did we ever see that when Woody, Edwards, Deano were playing regularly ? Seems the stress on modern day players is greater than say 30 years ago - or are the players not as fit as they were back in the day ?
It’s standard to now use 5 subs and replace half the outfield players in a game. In the 1980s, you were only allowed one sub. As a result, players now expend energy differently. In the past, all the players had to manage their efforts across 90 minutes; but now, half the outfield players are going to play somewhere between 50 and 70 minutes, and their energy expenditure is matched to that.

Any idea why Stoke didn't renew his contract? Did he have a bad injury record?

His passion desire and quality remind me of Dids, his Dads passing hit him very hard, and I feel he’s using his ability to channel his desire for his dad to be [proud of him.

As other people have said Coops and Ty have been absolute steals, both could fit in very well in a Prem team/squad.

With Ty we shape up to play to his qualities, amd it absolutely shows.

We just need to keep him fit, he has the potential to be one of our best Strikers ever in the Prem.

If you’re reading Ty you’re truly a Blade and your dad would be so proud of you! 💜

Diaz has had more minutes on the pitch than Cannon. Diaz missed a sitter set up by Cannon today.

If he hadn't had his injuries this season he'd easily be one of, if not the, top scorer in the division.

Excellent observation. It is a combination of both, but the BIG difference is that those wonderful players from the past were not pampered by the club in the way they are now, and and would play through pain and gain !

It might be that since becoming a father for the first time myself I’ve become a complete soppy bastard, but I’ve thought now on a couple of occasions how proud his dad would be of him to watch how well he’s doing for us. All we can do is continue showing him how much it means to us fans and he’ll know 👍.

He’s been a great signing. Probably my favourite so far considering cost. An intelligent and technical player that has lots of qualities and most importantly can score. Definitely one of Wilders gems.

Amazing to think that Stoke didn't even want to renew his contract isn't it.

It certainly is. Perhaps they don’t create enough and therefore didn’t see the best of him. I think if we created more chances he could be a 15-20 goal a season goalscorer at this level.
