Yes he was out of hospital within a day and training within a week ( and happened to be suspended for the game next up anyway) so hopefully it's along the same lines as it was suggested it was just a health issue he was aware of.

Hopefully that's the case here too.

Chesterfield's game has been delayed due to a medical issue with Fleck. Anyone heard more? Fingers crossed.
Hope he's okay and a speedy recovery, think with this being the 2nd time then it could be him retiring.

Live rest of his time in good health with with young family. Hopefully we see him on sufc tv and doing appearances for the club.

The fact that they said he went to hospital as a precautionary measure is a bit of a relief.

Should mean they want to take a look at him and make sure he's okay, especially as this has happened before.

Hope he gets better soon.

Time to pack it in now John!

Would love to hear him on commentary for us tbh.
Yeah he should definitely give up playing so the same thing can happen while he's doing commentary instead...

Why continue being a professional footballer when you can do something less interesting for less money but still have the same health condition?

Because sitting down and producing commentary on games is less taxing than playing high level professional football.

Quick science lesson for you and I'll do it for free 😊

Here goes: When you push your body above and beyond the level of your standard daily routine then it is going to require more energy output from the body. In order to do this, the body will need to burn fuel and then transport it around the body, meaning it is put under greater stress. The added stress is obviously going to put you at risk of aggravating any existing issues - the same way that redlining your car in each gear when you have an existing issue will likely fuck the car up worse.

That's only relevant if exercise is a contributing factor to his condition, seizures triggered by exercise are rare. If it had been determined that exercise was likely to be a trigger/contributing factor to his seizures then it's unlikely he'd have been allowed to play and been able to be insured after the first incident. So chances are it's not linked to exercise and could as easily happen while doing comms on a game. I've seen it reported that he was aware of the condition before the first time it happened on a football pitch due to it also happening while he was at home.

So thank you for the science lesson, I'm glad it was free because if it wasn't I'd be asking for a refund due to it missing key information.

If insurance/clearance to play was an issue then why is Christian Eriksen still playing?

Rare as it may be, it can't be ruled out.

Not sure why you felt the need in your original post to respond so sarcastically 🤔

Christian Eriksen has a completely different condition. He now has an implanted defibrillator, in some countries he's now able to be insured as the insurers consider that a suitable mitigation against future cardiac arrests.

At the time he wasn't able to be insured in Italy which is why he has his contract terminated by mutual agreement at Inter and returned to the UK where he would be able to be insured.

Fleck didn't suffer a cardiac arrest so it's not really comparable.

You're either not understanding, or ignoring my point. Whichever it is I won't waste any more time arguing with you. Enjoy your night and just to reiterate, there's no need for the sarcasm

Okay then. "Quick science lesson for you and I'll do it for free 😊" is fairly condescending and sarcastic from yourself isn't it? Especially when you follow it up with utter nonsense 🤷‍♂️
