3rd choice it is then, instead of throwing a couple of mil at two players wilder has no idea about should of gone for the position he actually wants.

Considering he's 29-years-old he's played very little senior football. He's averaged 11 appearances a season since he made his debut.

Hopefully we make hamza or BBD permanent to avoid this loan restriction bollocks ⚔️

If we go up, I’m not sure I’d make either of them permanent, so I’d rather avoid doing this.

If this happens as a loan it’s a bit of a screw up and a sign that we were desperate. I’m sure Wilder will manage it as best he can, but given we knew Souttar was out in December - this is pretty bad situation we have ended up in.

I just hope that Holding is better than I think he will be & does a good job to help us get over the line.

Spend 10m on Cannon, then refuse to spend an extra 1m or so to get Dunne, and instead saddle ourselves with someone who won't be up to speed until late March. Great stuff, very joined up. Good job we score so many goals, eh...?
Why would we want to spend an extra million on a player who will cost nothing to sign in the summer? Even thinking about doing it is comical.

I don't care how good Dunne might be, he's not worth forking out the extra 200k per month that effectively costs, compared to going after him when his contract expires.

Because we need a defender in his mould, we need one now, to try to get promoted and earn many millions more, and Dunne is as oven ready as it gets?

I think many doubters in this thread will be pleasantly surprised with him.

You don't play over 100 games for Arsenal if you're not good enough for the Championship

80% think it’s a bad signing

yes me anall think loan holding and buy dunne would be good business imo and all those saying weve too many loans are forgetting the injuries our squad always gets

“Doubters” is generous. They’d be moaning if we signed Tanganga (too expensive), or Dunne (not a centre half), or Darling, or whoever. But if Holding is a success, you’ll not find anyone who didn’t think he was a good signing all along.

Why couldn't we buy him?
Because its 25p above what we can spend on a CH - he's not played competitive football for over 18 months ( under 21 doesn't count) and we need a CH who can step in now and make a difference - never mind he will be up to steam by Easter - pretty underwhelming - why would you buy a player who hasn't played for nearly 2 years ? I hope nay pray that he's coming as a squad filler and we are still working on a CH that can step in now-

I distinctly remember saying two things in my Utd history

That Brewster lad is gash

Don’t let Don take that penalty

You can’t blame us for not wanting to spend £3/4m on Dunne who in 6 months time you could have for free. We don’t know what we were quoted on the Millwall lad it might not have been realistic.

I know what you’re probably thinking £3/4m could be the difference between promotion and not, but I don’t think Dunner is good enough to be that difference. On paper you’d probably say Holding is better based on pedigree.

He’s played in finals and regularly for Arsenal for years. The Crystal Palace situation has just been a shit show for both. If he’d not had that fall out & exile I doubt he’d need to drop to the championship.

I'm thinking this is like when we signed Gillespie and Unsworth, then the following season James Beattie.
They were all Premier League players who were a cut above for us at Championship level.

An Arsenal reserve CB is better than most CBs in the Championship
