I know you’re feeling like hell Pasta man but I’ll share two things with you.

First you might have heard I (accidentally) chucked myself off a ladder. Busted 10 ribs, fractured 3 vertebrae, tore an artery, punctured a lung and a few other bits. Had more pain than I could stand for my body and my head. It was close but I’ve pulled through this bit but at 72 and doing and teaching my son I bit of difficult DIY yesterday I’m Tony m age. I’m mentally attuned to the fact my time is coming, maybe not to soon but my experience has made me aware it’s not as far away as it once was.
I’m sat here chatting to a true Blade @ 4:30am cause I can’t sleep with the pain. I’m more fortunate in that my pain killers give me some relief. I’m also going to have to accept my body isn’t coping like it used to do. Time to hang some tools up and accept it’s happening, no one dodges the end but it’s so unfair that some like you get the sh!tty end of the stick.
What I have learned from my painful experience is it’s helpful to talk (albeit virtually), to put words down and to have someone with a shared interest (the might blades) read the words about your situation.
We don’t know each other, I don’t think many on here do but we are connected by the one thing we all love in a way none believers don’t understand, football and for us the Blades. If it gives you some, any relief either physically or mentally keep posting, stick the words down, share your pain, anger, grief and unquestionable pashun for the blades. It helped me through the darkest hours when others were tucked up sleeping. I could share my pain and anguish on here in a way men find hard to say out loud even to our most cherished like your Mrs Jane and the dogs (and yes I talk to my cat about it).
Why do we talk to pets and strangers (virtual friends) in a way we perhaps don’t to our loved ones? I don’t know the answer but I think it’s because we don’t want to pass on our pain to those close. On here you’re not judged or emotionally connected you’re just trying to offload the anger out maybe fears as much as the pain in your given situation. So keep sticking the fingers up at the stomach tumour Pasta man, take some comfort in knowing you get the last laugh cause when you go that b@stard can’t survive, you win!

Before I started rambling I said I’d share two things so here’s the other. My favourite food is Lasagne. I make a wicked one from fresh. Layers of mince, fresh pasta sheets, herbs, betchimal, cheese oozing and cracked pepper on top. I love my home made plate pies, my home made Indians and occasional home made Chinese as well as my beautiful pork pie (as a snack but for a meal) but my comfort food is Lasagne. The picture you posted has a nice crusted cheese sauce on top, one of my sons doesn’t like it toasted brown so I have to put foil over part of mine so his cheese stays runny.
Now for something that’s as an Italian you might find a bit disgusting. In summer for bbq nights I make Tuna lasagne with tinned tuna, sliced boiled eggs and topped with sliced tomato’s. Sorry but I love it.

So I rambled on while my little friendly pain killers kicked in. Going to go have another go at sleep. Just remember we are all by your side and thinking of you and your family. We’ve lost to many fellow Blades and S24 posters off here. But they’re all up there m8ty in that big United stand, we’ll all sit together again one day, keep your head up and keep pushing for that 5 nil win you want so much, maybe even 6 or 7. 🤞
