Deadline was supposed to be Wednesday , not today , so I don't quite get this.
Anyway , onto next target.

Hope we don't muddle up RB & CB now and fetch just 1 hybrid in.

Without question we need a specialist CB in the image of Souttar.

Whether we need a RB only CW will know how confident he feels about Seriki's likelihood of being fit & available for the rest of the season.

That said , we probably do need one looking at Alfie's form lately.
And Shacks record of being available.

I do wonder whether going public to say we are moving on, is intended to call Hertha's bluff and panic them into accepting the offer? I suppose it depends how much they need the money.

still think we need a right back and centre back i would imagine we would be after dunne now the kenny deal has broken down think harry darling might be our number 1 centre back target now

Could be a clever ploy again by the club. Tell our local media that we've moved on, forcing H.Berlin's hand with 24 hours left until the deadline we gave them?

Seems we did similar with Leicester, leaking our firm interest in Charles, Doyle and other midfielders. That worked to get them to agree to our terms for the Choud

Thin this is sensible, was good business at that price but not sure he's of the desired quality long term
Sure there are better options out there like dunne for example who I'd like at right back but not at centre back

I'm sure we probably have a set budget though so next two. Signings will be dependant on what's left in the pot

Sign dunne for a couple of mil and then loan a decent prem centre back like Keane

It’s playing hardball I actually like that

His contracts up in the Summer isn't it? So we just wait 6 months and get him on a free with no compensation to Hertha...

I get the impression he’s good Championship standard with qualities that suit us but not Premier league standard.
It would have really helped his development and confidence to come back to England at a level where he should instantly do well helping him settle in at his new club
And Wilder will get to see him at close quarters to judge whether we think he can make the step up to Premier league level.

Vini Souza is a great example, too good for the Championship but not good enough for the Premier league.
We instantly chucked him in to the deep end at PL level and he struggled in his 1st season, we all judged that he was a poor player.
This season he’s playing at an easier level and finally he’s showing what he can do, his confidence is up and he looks a quality player.
I reckon that if Vini Souza played for us in PL next season he’ll be a far better player because he’s gradually developed his standard and confidence at the club.

Regards Kenny I reckon that if we fail to gain promotion then we’ll be interested next season
But if we do gain promotion to the PL then we’ll be looking for better….unless he agrees to come as a low priority back up squad player.

Just fix Femi Seriki and we don’t need a new RB.
If we could guarantee Femi's fitness (which we cant) we'd 100% not be in for another RB.
Age, inexperience, all that, wouldn't come into play. He's good enough, he's just made from ice cream wafers

The beauty of this deal was the price to get him in now.
Whether we would feel the same about him in the summer is another matter.

We need cover now.
AG not a Right back and not really adapted to the need for getting forwards and lacks the pace and delivery needed.
Seriki appears to be struggling to stay fit and has been all season.
Therefore we have to get someone in, and will hope we can upgrade over what we currently have then see what division we are in before looking at our options.

Personally don’t think we will be back for him.

Think he will be here before end of window, if he has told club he wants to move here for family reasons he can just down tools and they are paying wages for nothing. Not doing themselves any favours

Be interesting now as Dunne is a different type so was JJK wanted as he seemed a good option with his contractual circumstances or to provide a specific role this season.

Not sure Hertha deserve to be riticised. They have every right to not accept a deal for a player under contract and let him leave on a free.

It might be a gamble and it might affect his performances but then that would be on the players attitude.

He isn't yet good enough defensively for a side challenging for promotion to the Premiership.
Some of our fans are blinkered by his pace which is very useful especially when we don't have alot of pace in our side, but his main job is to defend and he's not up to top end championship standard at the moment.

Can't Hamza play right back as well? Along with Gilchrist, Femi, and Shackleton we seem OK at RB (albeit two out of the four are currently out). There is surely a bigger priority to sort out at CB.

Gilchrist is incapable of attacking.
Seriki and Shackleton seem incapable of being available for any period of time.
Choudhury is here to play midfield.

It's vital we bring in a proper RB as it opens up half the pitch to us in attack and makes us stronger defensively (none of the options available to us are good at defending the wide channel).

If we play Souza, Choudhury and Gilchrist together I'll be really worried about our ability to move up the pitch.

I'm sure the club has other targets lined up. That's probably what this whole Wednesday deadline was about, so there's enough time to get plan B over the line if necessary.

We can agree a pre-contract agreement with him as soon as he enters the last six months of his contract, which we've pretty much done, so he'll definitely have no enthusiasm to play for them again after they've blocked his move.

Is that what Martin Cranie, Kieron Dowell, Gary Madine were?

Playing devils advocate.
Good call and tbf none of these players were good enough for the premier league which is why they don’t play there now but did a job for us, with what’s at stake sometimes you have to buy or loan a player not seemingly good enough for the future that fits this seasons jigsaw puzzle.

Exactly what I was thinking, Love that the club isn't allowing ourselves to be bullied and holding all the cards in the transfer deals, Wilder said number 1 targets want to join and that's exactly what we're seeing with this, Love to see it
