Souttar

I suppose both Blaster and Souttars injuries are equally as significant based on their contributions and miss to the side 🤷‍♂️😢
True but the way he said it. Saying everyone's back fit for Norwich apart from Arblaster and Souttar. If Souttar has gone back then he wouldn't be in the injuries talk etc.

The club thanked him and wished him well on social media so that pretty much confirms he’s done and gone / going back.

Might be sorting the admin with Choudhury coming the other way in a one hit
You got the link of the club wishing him well and confirming his return? Never found it

Can’t find it now.

Not on SM at all anymore. Was either shared on here or a what’s app group but can’t put my finger on it.

It’s confirmed he’s out for the season and beyond though, no way we keep him on loan in those circumstances.

Once again mentioned in today's presser as been injured for the season. Dont see why if he's "gone back " already.

Why would we retain a loan player with a season ending injury?

And a Leicester based news site

Cheers. Just didn't get why mentioning him with Arblaster as Souttar isn't our player anymore it seems.

I reckon it’s because he realises that he’s almost irreplaceable at this level. He’s a massive loss to the team and also he’s contributed as much as anyone to our current league position. Hes as much of a loss to us this season is as Blaster is.

If we do go up, for me he’s as much right to be getting Stearmaned on the top of a bus as anyone imo

I believe these are the basic Souttar game stats which demonstrate the importance of replacing him with the best and most influential CB that we can find.

With Souttar we conceded only 10 goals in his 21 games.

Without Souttar we've conceded 10 goals in only 7 games. Simple maths tells you it would be 30 in 21 games.

I know there are other factors like Souza & Blaster , but conceding goals at 3 times the previous rate is a season-defining drop-off in defensive performance.

We really need a commanding leader in the centre of defence to bring back that sense of calm authority which Souttar provided.
None of Anel , Robbo , Gilchrist or Baptiste can fill his shoes.

It seems we're leaving CB till the last of our additions - I hope this means we are targetting the kind of quality loan which the PL clubs don't release until the end of the window.

Ps - does anyone know whether we are still paying Souttar's wages or have Leicester picked them back up after he returned to them ?
I would hope they are kindly disposed towards us with the fee they've trousered for Cannon !

But it’s strange we haven’t heard any rumours though…That’s my concern.
Maybe the Hull debacle may change that.

The issue we’re going to have is that any half decent CB with match fitness probably isn’t going to be available for loan in January.

Souttar wasn’t fit when we signed him, he probably played too much too soon because we realised JLT isn’t an actual option for a good Championship team. Souttar was then injured and this may or may not have been linked to not being fully fit and still having to play lots of games.

My concern is that unless we’re throwing money at a good, established Championship level or better CB then we’re talking 6 weeks before we can get them into the starting lineup regularly. That’s too long.

Sounds like there will be bigger issues for Souttar and Leicester as well…. I heard that his recovery has had a setback, to say the least. Poor fella

The operation not gone well?

You would think a repair of the Achilles was pretty straight forward, though it's a long job to fitness

One thing about Wilder is he can be very stubborn, if he has decided on Robbo for the longer term and suggesting we will renew his contract means he's happy. This is not a good decision for a forward thinking club and it is that stubbornness which will eventually cost him his job.

I loved Souttar as much as anyone but in fairness to the team since Souttar was I hired the team as a whole hax picked up shed loads of injuries as well as a rough run of fixtures in there too. We obviously miss Souttar but I do think with a decent replacement like Woolfenden and the likes of Souza and Hamer back we'll be a lot more solid generally and having Hamza in there as a defensive ball winner can only help too.

That's hardly surprising if the surgeon who carried out the op was as competent as the person who stitched the wound back up again. Did Leicester find them advertising in the back of the weekly free newspaper?
Stitched pretty sure it was stapled back up
