First half we were utter garbage. Nobody seemed interested in putting in the graft necessary, especially when you consider we're against a team that just got slapped in their derby.

Half time changes were perfect. Credit to CWAK, plus anyone else who had input on those subs & restructure. Immediate dividends with the goal & red card, and a great run in behind by Campbell forcing the foul for the pen.

We looked superb in the 2nd half. Admittedly the vast majority of that was vs 10 men, but we were playing:

  • Without Souza
  • Without Arblaster
  • Without Souttar
  • Without JRS
  • With BBD making a first appearance for us in ~8 months and after 1 days' training
  • Campbell and Seriki's 2nd appearance back from injury

Plus probably other stuff I've forgotten.

And we're on the verge of more signings coming in, and with more players coming back to fitness.

Think RND has played himself out of contention tonight. Looked utterly out of his depth, which saddens me as I think he's a good lad. But we can't rely on those sorts of performances if we're to stay in the promotion battle.

Great performance by Brewster. Took up a smart position for his goal, and would likely have had a 2nd if McCallum doesn't sky it over instead. Only criticism is I think he's the one who loses their man who scores on the free kick. Happy to be proved wrong though.

Hopefully now we can get the Cannon deal done in time for Friday, so we have another option going forward. And we absolutely need to get a CB and CM in. We cannot go to the end of the season without defensive reinforcements, and while I like us signing a RB, that isn't enough.

Likewise at CM, we need at least 1 body in. Peck is knackered, Davies is missing a couple of games, Souza isn't fit yet.

We have every chance, if we can continue to deliver performances like that 2nd half, of automatic promotion, or perhaps even winning the league. But if we miss out in the transfer market, that is put in serious jeopardy.

Starting lineup or not, to find any winning combination out of the players available tonight deserves huge credit. To keep doing it game after game is basically a miracle.

Those that still don't want to accept Wilder is doing a brilliant job, are making themselves look stupid. I'm not sure there's another manager that would have us where we are right now.

Better second half with Hamer in the middle, thought Peck ran his socks off and subs did well when they came on, good win and on to friday

Well we won more matches this season than anyone else in the division so I don’t think we doing too bad for excitement….
The results have made it exciting, but it isn't fun until the referee blows his final whistle. It's almost a heart attack every bleeding game. Why aren't the players just allowed to nail a game down every now and then.

The perfect opportunity against ten men in disarray to give everybody an enjoyable, relaxing game, but no, we invite them onto us and give up possession.

Credit to wilder he realised he cocked up with the initial team selection and saw how poor we was, rectified it at half time and played the subs changed the game and moving hamer into middle (where he should have been to start with).

Think we got it wrong first half - not sure the thinking of RND in and Burrows in midfield, other than trying to rotate players a bit. Great to see CWAK being proactive and correcting the ship early.

Crackers that we're beyond the bare bones in the middle of the park and shoehorning defenders in there. No wonder it didn't work out.

well the first half was a car crash Hope we have learned that formation does not work . Feel sorry for RND he was a liability way off the pace and was lucky not to give away a penalty also was responsible for Hamers card . Second half we were a different team after the subs came on but before the break we were awful . Campbell looks good leading the line and caused them a lot of grieve ,hope he keeps fit .

Didn't deserve that after the first half performance but rode out luck and took our chances.

Terrible first half. Swansea were clever. They normally pass it around the back like kamikaze footballers but bypassed the midfield and we were not prepared for it. We looked all over the shop. They should have had 2 pens and RND should have gone.

Much better start to the second half. Got the equaliser and then the sending off which was never a red card. Then gave us a stupid pen. We then dominated, missed a few chances but after going ahead sat back too much and let them come on to us. They never really looked like scoring though.

Cooper - 7.5 - Unlucky with the goal after making a really good safe. Did well otherwise. Probably the man of the match by default.
RND -2 - Just not at it. Should have got a second yellow and given a pen away. Just looks so slow.
Robbo - 5 - Looked a bit uncertain all night. Lot of rushed clearances.
Anel - 5.5 - Like Robbo, often chasing shadows. He picked up second half but not at his best.
Gilchrist 5 - Struggled a bit with their pace out wide.
Peck - 5 - Lucky not to give a pen away for handball and looked a bit all at sea.
Burrows - 5.5 - Unfamiliar position for him and I thought McCallum did much better in the middle. Another pen. Good to have a reliable penalty taker.
O'Hare - 3 - I thought he was awful tonight. Really not on any wavelength.
Brooks - 3 - As above. No surprise he came off really as he really didn't put a shift in and offered little cover.
Hamer - 6 - Mixed. He at least tried to make things happen. Banned now for 2 games thanks to RND giving him no option.
Brewster - 6 - A well taken goal and looked lively all game.

Subs

McCallum - 7 - Thought he did well when he came on. Did well in the centre and looked like one of the more likely players to create something.
Seriki - 6.5 - Did well to drive to the by-line and put in the cross for the first. He was really dangerous for 15 minutes but I wasn't entirely convinced by his defensive side.
Campbell - 7 - His run for the penalty and he is very direct. I did think he needed to influence the game more later on.
BBD - 5.5 - Good to see him on the pitch but he looked rusty, as you'd expect.

Yeah also pleased for Brewster too, definitely seen a noticeable improvement these last couple of games and finally paid off. Hope he can keep it up.
Had a decent game, but i was just saying it just won't happen for him when he had a shot blocked moments earlier, then next touch he bags a good goal.

Didn't anyone at the game hear Wilder shouting?
"Get back, get back and defend you idiots" ???

what a huge 3pts that is back top of the league. we have to be honest say we were lucky 1st half, we were dreadful, shouldve been 2-0 down & with RND off with a swansea penalty. but weve been waiting for good luck to even out the nad luck & we made most of it played great 2nd half & we got the job done

brewster seems to like the swansea stadium. i know his limitations. but ive always had soft spot for him, as i like the guy as regardless of quality, he had always given a 100%. which with all knockbacks he's had. the ridicule. he could easily phone it in. but brewsters effort can never be questioned

1st half: Probably our worse half of the season. Should have been 2-0 down at half time based on chances,
Reminded me of how we perform in early rounds FA cup games, when half the 1st team are rested.
Some really poor displays, RND looked out of his depth, Burrows struggled playing out of position in midfield,
Brooks played like he was still ill and hardly touched the ball. Hamer hardly touched the ball too.

A key moment was their man was running into the box towards goal. RND kept trying to nudge him off, is this a foul or not?
Anyhow their players stayed on his feet trying to shoot. If he’d gone down there’s a good chance the ref would have awarded a penalty and a yellow card.
RND was already on a yellow card, so would have been sent off early in the 1st half.

2nd half: The 3 substitutions at half time totally changed the game.
Opposition fullbacks just can’t handle Sereki, he’s so quick and direct…it’s like a cheat code.
Also Campbell looked class with clever runs and touches.
Their sending off was a little unlucky because it wasn’t deliberate, Campbell just nicked the ball and the challenge looked really bad, so it was a deserved red.
The penalty was also unlucky, Campbell is clever and puts himself between the ball and the player, he show a bit of the ball to the defender who makes the challenge
just as Campbell moved to shield it, clear contact and a definite penalty, well played Campbell.

We generally controlled the rest of the game and should have scored a 3rd, a terrible miss from McCallum blasting it over the bar from close range.

However credit to Swansea, down to 10 men and in the last 10 minutes they went for it.
We sat back parking the bus, they didn’t create anything but it’s always risky when the ball is ricocheting around in our box.

A well earned 2-1 win, again it was more about character and a battling display, instead of looking like a top side.
However we do have loads of injuries forcing us to play some players out of position.

Yeah, how will we create anything or score without Burrows or McCallum?

Oh wait, Hamer, O'Hare and Brooks are playing. Actual attackers.
So , what did you reckon to the first half ? I looked at that starting line-up and I think my scepticism was justified.

Thank god CW has the good sense at HT to correct his initial bollox.

Game looked fairly even for ten minutes, then we got absolutely battered.

Everyone was sceptical of the lineup, but some people understood the selection problems the manager had. How would you have lined up first half? BBD is clearly not match fit and probably won't start Friday either, Campbell also not fit to start.

We were battered from the off - clearly Hamer as DM and Burrows LB
RND is finished.
McCallum or Brooks on LW.
The way Campbell played , he should have started with Brewster on RW.
First half was a total shit show by Wilder which any Blade could have predicted from the selection & setup.
We were lucky not to be 2 or 3 adrift at HT.

If Brooks is LW, who is RW? (He played awful btw and got hooked at HT, but you're still starting him?)

McCallum is a left back and you'd have played him left wing. He's done it a few times this season due to a lack of options but it just shows someone was always going to be playing out of position tonight. It's not because our manger (who has us top of the league) is clueless.

That Campbell played well doesn't mean he was fit to start. Our manager and staff have to actually consider these decisions properly; they understand the injury he had and have received scientific, medical advice on how best to ease him back in. You're just a bloke spouting off on the internet that you know better than the manager, even though you have none of the relevant information. It's embarrassing.

loved him his time during his with us. but RND post injury, looks he hasnt returned at the same level & it is sad to see him turning into liability for us when he was so good 21/22 & 22/23
It was a gamble keeping him but we've lost - he won't improve , get rid , he's too far off the standard - how on earth Wilder can play him is beyond stupid
