Updated as Marlon King has had his contract terminated and settled as announced on sufc.co.uk

Derby County striker Conor Sammon now strongly linked, may have something to it as well because Patrick Bamford looks to be on his way to them

Lots of effort and very few goals, we've not had enough strikers like that.

With Clough expecting to only make loan signings, I think Stead would be an excellent player to have. He is different to porter and is not a target man. He is a guy who runs the channels with a bit of speed.

Considering Bamford has gone from MK Dons to Derby, I wonder how may other loan players from top clubs could be willing to make a switch such as the Chelsea lad at Walsall, Lalkovic.

James Wilson at Manure is tipped to have a bright future and at an age where they would be looking for him to go out on loan for the rest of this season and next. Macheda if fit might be willing to join the revolution.

Arsenal have the lad Chuks Aneke on loan at Crewe till January. He looked to have a bit of quality about him.

I am sure there are some rich pickings among these young players from the bigger clubs. Bamford is a good example. We should have got him before MKD. How did we miss that opportunity?

It is just that we seem to always end up with the shit end of the stick...eg Cofie and Bunn to name two recent flops.

HH

Only loans eh? Well I enjoy a good relegation battle as much as the next man.

As long as the 'Out' section in the opening post has plenty more names added to it I'll be reasonably happy.

Sammon looked good for a bit while at Wigan but just didn't get enough goals.

Could we not piss off Wednesday and try to lure Wickham to us?

Yes, in some ways he looked very dangerous, he just couldn't finish things off.

I was impressed when I first saw him at Wigan and thought we might get him on loan a few years ago but who knows maybe he will be more clinical in this league perhaps?

All youngsters back for the time being: McFadzean, Ironside and Whitehouse.

McGinty may go to Mansfield ?

Asked for Coady for another month and waiting for situation to settle down at Cardiff to ask for Lappin for a month.

Confirmed interest in Waghorn, Kieran Freeman and a list of others.

Doesn't think much will happen until after the cup.

Strange one only requesting Coady for another month. I wonder if he has a midfielder lined up at the end of themonth.

Sounds fishy to me...
Yes Broomers, me too.
On a scale of 1-10 sounds about 9.5 to me.
I wasn't sure who spawned this rumour but since the steaks are quite high, we certainly won't be looking at small fry.
I've heard the guy is a bit fly but could be hooked if we have the right bait.
Most of the reports appear to be pre-canned to me but given thyme he may not prove to be a big a lemon as suggested.
However, when it all boils down to it the odds are he'll be poached by some other club.

Hello fellow Blades! Got sick of fighting with Blades-Mad so have moved over here now. According to official site Lappin has also returned to Cardiff at the end of his loan spell. Can't say I'm too upset by that one. utb

Lappin was an emergency loan so he has to go back to Cardiff for now. Suspect once the new manager gets in post we will see him return (depending on the success or otherwise of Nigel's forays into the loan market during January)

With Coady back for rest of Jan (suspect he is filling in pending outcome of other enquiries) it leaves space for 4 loans.

Just noticed Mathieu Manset has been released by Coventry. Perhaps someone we could give a trial to? I recall him looking half decent when he was at Reading.

Being released doesn't suggest he's been pulling up any trees but wonder how much that's down to the form of Clarke and Wilson plus finances?....

I don't think Manset has the mindset of a footballer. Shame as he has the physical attributes.
Judging from his girth and the number of clubs that have bombed him out I suspect he has an 'attitude problem'
