Ched Evans going to prison and James Beattie being called into the office to be told he had been sold to Stoke,

I appreciate they don't fit into the timeline of the opening post, but two more things that conspired against us, one of our own doing!

Thought I'd give this a little update, taking into account all the time they have been here:

Coutts 7
Freeman 7
Sharp 8
McNulty 5
Basham 6.5
McNulty 5

The rest I'd keep the same, but look at the contrast with signings this season :O

Duffy 7
Hussey 2
Wilson 5
Fleck 8
Wright 8
O'Connell 7.5
Clarke 4
Moore 7.5
Lavery 7
Brown N/A
Carruthers 6
Lafferty 6.5
Hanson 7

Of course that doesn't really tell you anything that you didn't already know, Wilder gets a lot of credit, but I think there's been some changes behind the scenes to make sure all transfers are well thought out rather than a free-for-all as it used to be.

Big harsh on basham, been made to play all over the pitch in his time. However this season when he's actually had a solid position he's been class. Also the profit we made on Adams must make him a 8+ alone

An update on an old Bladesmad thread I did a while back, these are just the permanent ones (48 of them) and of course and only my opinion. 1-4 or N/A= failure, 5-6= mediocre, 7+ = success.

So roughly:

Failures: 21, or 44%
Mediocre: 21, or 44%
Success: 5, or 10%

What can we conclude? The recruitment has been dreadful, and the waste has been vast. But then we knew that already.

2011-12:

Lecsinel Jean-François 5
Danny Philliskirk N/A
Ryan Flynn 6
Chris Porter 6

Matt Hill 6
Tony McMahon 6
Shaun Miller 5
Nick Blackman 8
Dave Kitson 6
Danny Coyne N/A
Danny Higginbotham 6
Jamie Murphy 8
Barry Robson 6

Stephen McGinn 5
Sean McGinty 3
Jasper Johns N/A
Lyle Taylor 4
Jose Baxter 6
Florent Cuvelier 5
Marlon King 4
Stefan Scougall 5

Hanson.

More than Basham ?
Same as Coutts Freeman & Duffy ?

Did you go to Rochdale & Oxford ?????

UTB

Its all about opinions but they are roughly in the right ball park for scores considering that Freeman, Coutts and Basham have been mediocre/poor for the majority of their time here.

A good signing is one that hits the ground running, so yes whilst perhaps Hanson is a bit generous, I'd stick with the others. Duffy has been good but can go missing at times.

I suppose we can talk about ratings until the cows come home (my fault I know XD) , main objective is to look at the club strategy as a whole
