Apparently McBamby has tweeted hell of a signing re BBD. Not seen it as don’t do social media

im delighted everyones main summer wish was BBD, wasnt he our top scorer last season. as i remember watching him when he turned & it was frightening the jump in quality he offered. last i seen it was Norwood debut. it was if he went this is premier league quality & this is the level i need you to reach

its clear he needs team that plays with pace. not a aldi guardiola possession style. im sure he will have the same affect as he did 12 months ago. will relieve the pressure on moore & allow one to go on loan

Sheff United agree loan for Brereton Diaz

Sky Sports News' Tim Thorton and Mark McAdam report:

Sheffield United have verbally agreed a loan deal with Southampton for striker Ben Brereton Diaz.

The 25-year-old is yet to score for Southampton in his 13 appearances this season, that’s after joining the club for £7 million last summer.

It’s believed the deal has an option to turn the move into a permanent signing.

Chris Wilder is keen to reunite with the striker who scored 6 PL goals for the blades last season.

If people stop asking him, then he goes away.

Dont feed him 🤷‍♂️.

All his messages now (that i see on here), just seem to be sly digs at the new regime (or could be seen that way).
Yeah fair. I am not one for posting on social media in any circumstance but the folk asking him stuff like he's the oracle don't help I suppose.

I have seen a couple of his posts which I can't tell if they're wind ups or he is actually having a bit of a go.

I hadn't realised it's as low as £7m. Loan to buy.....?

Loan to buy is the perfect deal for us and as has been pointed out he did exceptionally well in what was an almost historically bad prem side with us. If he’d been with us the whole season he’d have scored double figures in the top flight which isn’t to be sniffed at.

Stylistically as well he’ll offer us balance in the front 3 we’ve had and wanted wingers cutting in and shooting from the right this year with JRS and Brooks and whilst both are learning their trade we’ve seen how effective it’s been at times most recently at Watford with Brooks. BBD offers us that from the left but with hopefully a more clinical edge at 25 he should be entering his prime and should be coming into a system and environment which suits him. I’m excited to see him back at the lane.

Exactly

And he’s only 25

It’s the transfer fee that’s so much the problem, it’s the wages.

FFP rules make it really tough for Championship clubs to dish out PL level wages. Once our parachute payments run out then we’ll be facing a points deduction unless we offload our best players.

As we’ll be desperate to sell, then they might need to be sold below market value.
Assume the contract regards wages will be quite complicated with all kinds of bonuses thrown in.
Maybe, just maybe, BBD is so desperate to move back to the lane that he'll play for free with a promotion bonus making it worth it for him...🤪🤪

Watching that makes me want us to get McBurnie back.
Some great combination play between them.

McBurnie was brilliant at linking the play from midfield. Not the target man many think he is, a much more skillful footballer.
The issue is we seemed to be daft and just play like all he's good for is being a target man more often than not.
